Supervise the activities of assigned personnel in the Instrument and Control Systems, on the assigned platform to perform tasks in line with the agreed work plan;
Receive and review incoming instrument work requests for the assigned field location; Determine and verify work request requirements in terms of man-hours, skill levels, materials, equipment and the criticality required into Oracle Enterprise Maintenance System; In cases of criticality/equipment breakdown, liaise with Operations to immediately respond to Operations requirement;
Receive the preventive maintenance work programme of work orders; Arrange the weekly and daily schedule, determine necessary skill levels, allocate work to technicians and arrange for support services, materials and/or test equipment availability; Arrange appropriate Permit to Work (PTW) and related documentation and provide to the respective Production Supervisor;
Monitor the progress of Instrument and Control Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) on equipment, provide advice and guidance on courses of action to be taken and arrange for equipment testing and/or fitting work to be inspected when required; Review completed work, check and carry out start-up tests;
Ensure that all work orders and checklists are completed with actual man-hours taken, materials used, date job completed and entered data into the Oracle Enterprise Maintenance System; At the end of each shift, send report/discuss work with the Maintenance Superintendent and update on the current situation within the plant; Discuss any problems requiring technical or logistical requirements and any delays in programmes; Ensure the proper maintenance of all section records, files and drawings; Review stores vouchers and purchase requisitions for non-stock materials through the system;
Assist in the development of proposals for modifications or installation of new instrument and control systems; Supervise any in-house project work completed by technicians; Perform the more complex modifications and/or installations as and when required; Participate in the testing and commissioning of new or modified equipment and systems;
Participate in the planning for, and supervise the execution of, major equipment/plant turnarounds and shutdowns for the discipline; Prepare work lists, review requests from Operations and assist in the development of an overall work plan for the overhaul/shutdown; Participate in the recalibration, testing and start-up of overhauled equipment;
Ensure that all activities of the plant are carried out in accordance with the Company\'s safety policies and procedures; Ensure that all safety rules and regulations are fully explained to all personnel;
Attend daily meetings with Operations personnel, Planning Team and other discipline supervisors to discuss work, set work priorities and to coordinate and schedule the day\'s activities;
Review and update Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) procedures, drawings, project scope of works, and bill of materials;
Evaluate Continuous Improvement (CI) suggestions with other crafts, peer and decide if suggestions are recommended for implementation;
Carry out active monitoring audits of PTW and reports findings to Operations Superintendent;
Identify the requirements to remove and replace equipment, liaising with the Return/Repair Workshops in Jebel Ali on all return work;
Ensure implementation of changes approved by Management of Change process (MOC) in area of responsibility and liaise with Change Approval Form (CAF) coordinator for timely close out of the CAF;
Review Engineering Work Packs and provide appropriate feedback;
Ensure Quality Non-Conformance (QNC) process is initiated whenever a situation is identified in his area of responsibility; Liaises with Quality Key Result Areas (Key Accountabilities);
Participate in Company safety programmes;
Work towards completion of Company Competency Development Assurance (CDA) scheme;
Accountable for the Safety Critical Elements (SCE) compliance to ensure that all Preventive Maintenance Assurance Routines (PMAR) are completed within the allowed timeframe or a deferral is raised/approved; Manage the discipline backlog, identify areas not in compliance to the maintenance team and raise the flag with the maintenance team when backlog exceeds 1 month limit for the available resources.
What you need to bring
3-year diploma or apprenticeship in Instruments or Electronics training and qualifications;
8-10 years varied instrumentation installation, maintenance and repair experience on similar Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), instrumentation, and distributed control systems (DCS) and equipment in the Oil Operations industry;
Experience should include some time at a supervisory level;
Experience in the use of computer maintenance and materials systems;
Excellent written and oral English language skills;
Should be computer literate, having knowledge of MS Office;
Good time management skills;
Experience with decision making in an operations environment.
