JOB TITLE: Inspector I Quality (Instrumentation & Telecom)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
xc2xb7 Inspect each instrument against data sheet prior to release to site for installation.
xc2xb7 Witness calibration of each instrument as required by ITP/specifications.
xc2xb7 Witness calibration of safety valves.
xc2xb7 Witness calibration and seat leakage test of control valves.
xc2xb7 Monitor preservation requirements of instruments and control panels.
xc2xb7 Inspect instrument stanchions, location, mounting height, orientation etc.
xc2xb7 Inspect installation of Instruments including glanding termination of cables.
xc2xb7 Inspect installation/hook up and pressure test of impulse tubing.
xc2xb7 Witness pressure test of impulse tubes.
xc2xb7 Inspect installation of air supply/signal lines.
xc2xb7 Witness pressure/leak testing of air supply/signal lines.
xc2xb7 Witness inspection/test related to analyser houses.
xc2xb7 Verify completion of heat tracing for impulse tubes.
xc2xb7 Inspect installation of supports prior to cable tray installation.
xc2xb7 Inspection of cable tray/conduit installation prior to release for cable laying.
xc2xb7 Inspect UG stub-ups
xc2xb7 Inspect cable trench for sand bedding prior to cable laying and release each layer.
xc2xb7 Witness IR/continuity test of cables on the drum, prior to back filling trench, after glanding and termination.
xc2xb7 Inspect cable segregation arrangement etc prior to back filling.
xc2xb7 Inspect cable glanding, termination, dressing etc.
xc2xb7 Inspect installation of cable tray cover if reqd.
xc2xb7 Inspect control room building prior to installation of panels.
xc2xb7 Surveillance during installation of equipment at control room to ensure manufacturers recommendations are followed.
xc2xb7 Inspect installation of various control panels, consoles, desks etc.
xc2xb7 Inspect internal cable tray works prior to installation of cables.
xc2xb7 Inspect installation of various cables including system cables.
xc2xb7 Witness testing of all cables.
xc2xb7 Inspect termination of cables in each panel.
xc2xb7 Inspect instrument earthing of panels, cables etc.
xc2xb7 Monitor pest control activities inside control building.
xc2xb7 Inspect installation of various F&G instruments, control panels.
xc2xb7 Witness testing of the F&G circuits and system as applicable.
xc2xb7 Inspect location, mounting height of JBs Local panels against drawings.
xc2xb7 Inspect wiring inside each JBs and local panels.
xc2xb7 Witness testing of control panels.
xc2xb7 Verify all inspections related each loop components have been carried out as per applicable ITPs and documented.
xc2xb7 Witness loop continuity checking.
xc2xb7 Witness loop checking, if applicable.
xc2xb7 Monitor preservation requirements of communication equipment and control panels.
xc2xb7 Inspect installation of communication equipment including glanding termination of cables.
xc2xb7 Witness testing of fiber optic cables testing prior to installation, prior to trench back filling and final test.
xc2xb7 Witness communication cable testing
xc2xb7 Witness testing of communication system
xc2xb7 Inspection and testing of the PA/GA circuits, CCTV components, telephone units, exchange, and other systems as applicable.
xc2xb7 Inspect installation of various types of antennas and radio tower/mast.
xc2xb7 Perform initial detailed inspection of certified electrical equipment based on latest IEC 60079-17 table 1,2,3 and IEC 60079-14, or perform visual or close inspection as applicable.
xc2xb7 Correct interpretation of equipment labels, IP Rating etc.
xc2xb7 Verify IP Rating is maintained.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
xc2xb7 Diploma in Electrical/ Instrumentation /Telecommunication Engineering or equivalent (Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering may be an optional qualification, if the person is with proven track record in instrumentation).
xc2xb7 Minimum 7 years experience as Instrumentation QC Inspector.
xc2xb7 Should have experience in oil & gas/Petrochemical industry.
xc2xb7 Should have previously worked with major EPC contractors or their subcontractors.
xc2xb7 For Hazardous Area Electrical Inspections: Should be an experienced person whose training has included instructions on various types of protection and installation practices, IEC 60079-17 and IEC 60079-14. (Evidence of relevant experience and training claimed shall be documented and available). If no such training attended, he should undergo Petrofac in-house training: PEC-RCD-00384, prior to assigning any Ex-Inspections.
