Inspector - Civil / Structural

to join our on?site team in Duahil, Doha, and support the delivery of a high?profile building programme.

Position Summary



The Inspector - Civil / Structural will be responsible for the on?site inspection, verification, and quality control of all civil and structural works in accordance with the approved design, specifications, contractual requirements, and applicable Qatar construction codes (e.g., Qatar Construction Specification, ISO 9001, and relevant international standards). The role reports directly to the

Project Site Engineer / Senior Structural Engineer

and works closely with the consultancy, subcontractors, and client representatives.

Key ResponsibilitiesAreaResponsibilityInspection & Monitoring

o Conduct daily visual inspections of foundations, concrete works, steel reinforcement, formwork, prestressed elements, and structural finishes.

Verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality plans. Perform dimensional checks, alignment, plumbness, and tolerances using survey instruments (total station, GPS, laser levels, etc.).

Testing & Documentation

o Coordinate non?destructive testing (NDT), concrete slump, compressive strength tests, weld inspections, and material certifications. Review and sign off test reports, material submittals, and shop drawings. Maintain accurate inspection logs, daily progress reports, and photographic records in the project management system.

Quality Assurance / Control

o Ensure implementation of the project QA/QC procedure and any client?specific quality requirements. Identify non?conformities, issue punch items, and track corrective actions to closure. Participate in weekly and monthly quality review meetings with the consultancy and client.

Health, Safety & Environment

o Verify that all civil/structural activities comply with HSE standards and site safety plans. Report unsafe conditions or incidents promptly to the HSE officer.

Coordination & Communication

o Liaise with the design consultancy to resolve design?related queries and propose practical construction solutions. Communicate inspection findings to site foremen, subcontractors, and the project management team. Support the preparation of as?built documentation and hand?over packages.

Professional Development

o Keep updated on the latest Qatar construction regulations, international codes (ACI, AISC, Eurocode), and emerging inspection technologies.

Qualifications & ExperienceRequirementDetailsEducation

Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related discipline.

Professional Experience

Minimum

7?years

of total experience in the construction industry, with at least

3?years

dedicated to building projects.

Consultancy Exposure

Proven experience working within a consultancy environment or directly interfacing with design consultants on complex structural works.

Technical Skills

o Strong knowledge of Qatar Construction Specification (QCS), ISO 9001, and relevant international codes. Proficiency in inspection tools and techniques (e.g., NDT, concrete testing, steel reinforcement verification). Familiarity with CAD/BIM software for drawing review is advantageous.

Language

Fluent English (both written and spoken). Arabic is a plus.

Certifications (preferred but not mandatory)

o OSHA/NEBOSH or equivalent HSE certification. Professional Engineer (PE) registration or equivalent local licensure. Certification in Concrete / Steel inspection (e.g., ACI, AISC).
