By some estimates, consumers in Africa spend relatively up to ten times more of their disposable income on food compared to developed markets. On the other hand, smallholder farmers in fresh produce supply chains encounter multiple challenges that prevent them from achieving sustainable livelihoods through their farms. This economic challenge to food security is primarily caused by the highly fragmented and inefficient retail market across the continent, where roughly 90% consists of small independent retailers.

YoLa Fresh is aiming to be Africas largest fresh produce supply chain, which leverages technology and data to organize the agriculture commerce ecosystem. Our technology and Africa-centric solutions will disrupt the way fruits and vegetables move from farms to consumers' plates. We empower farmers and other players in the ecosystem in ways never done before. Our Supply Chain is equipped to move thousands tonnes of perishables from farms to businesses, every day, in less than 24 hours.

We are seeking a dynamic and analytical Insights Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in gathering, analyzing, and translating market insights to drive informed business decisions. As an Insights Specialist, you will be responsible for monitoring industry trends, understanding customer needs, and providing actionable recommendations to enhance our products and services.

Responsibilities:

Market Research:

Conduct in-depth market research to identify emerging trends, competitive landscapes, and opportunities within the fruits and vegetables industry.

Customer Insights:

Gather and analyze customer feedback, preferences, and behaviors to understand their evolving needs and expectations.

Report Generation:

Prepare and deliver regular reports, dashboards, and presentations summarizing key insights, trends, and recommendations.

Continuous Learning:

Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in market research and insights generation.

Requirements

Proficiency in both quantitative and qualitative research methods to gather a comprehensive understanding of customer needs and market dynamics.

Good communication skills

Strong problem-solving skills to address business challenges based on insights derived from research.

Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic environment and adjust research strategies as needed.

Familiarity with data analysis tools and techniques, such as statistical analysis, data visualization, and reporting tools

Proven experience in conducting thorough and insightful research on customer behavior, market trends, and industry benchmarks.

Demonstrated ability to translate research findings into actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making.

Competitive Intelligence: Background in maintaining and utilizing competitive intelligence to stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends.

Data Interpretation: Good skills in interpreting data and analytics to derive meaningful conclusions and recommendations.
