Synopsis
This role reports to the Innovation Value Stream Lead.
The Product Owner is responsible for defining and prioritising the use cases in the Innovate Lab project pipeline, with a focus on delivery proof of concepts and pilots. They will work closely with multiple stakeholders, including but not limited to the respective value stream leads, business units, delivery teams and external partners and will act as liaison between all teams by preparing and attending project status meetings and steering committees.
The Product Owner will act as the customer proxy and will support them in defining the product vision for the proof of concept and/or pilot and will work to ensure that the delivery teams understand the required features and functionality of products to be delivered. They drive quality control and will validate that the delivered product meets the defined acceptance criteria.
The Product Owner will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of proof of concepts and pilots from the planning and requirements phase to project delivery and closure. Time, budget and quality are key performance indicators of delivery. The projects will be delivered using a mix of Scaled Agile and Modern Waterfall methodologies.
Accountabilities
Responsible for the on time and on budget delivery of projects, within agreed scope and quality measures
Responsible for the benefits realisation of all projects managed
Develop and maintain the overall project plan consistent with project objectives as defined by the business
Lead the project team in scoping activities to identify, capture and analyse requirements, define key business drivers and oversee the delivery of an effective and innovative solution
Identify critical stakeholders and create a stakeholder management plan, to manage the relationship between teams successfully
Ensure regular and accurate communication to stakeholders, by distributing minutes of meeting, project status updates and project documentation
Proactively manage project financials and work with the Strategic Supplier & Cost Optimisation Lead to drive efficiencies
Education & Experience
3+ years of experience in product development or project management using Scaled Agile and modern waterfall delivery methodologies
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or equivalent is mandatory
Certification in Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), SAFe Product Owner, Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE 2 or equivalent is beneficial
Demonstrated success in defining, delivering and launching proof of concepts and pilots
Technical and business operations knowledge with proven ability to drive solutions
Experience defining vision and strategy for a technical product
Knowledge of both Scaled Agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment
Proficient in using Microsoft Office Project and Project Portfolio Management tools
Evaluate and address complex project risks and issues accurately and objectively
Strong entrepreneurial mindset with a bias towards action and iteration
