is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented and creative

Image Retoucher

to join our publishing team.

The role involves preparing, editing, and enhancing images, illustrations, and graphics for books, magazines, and other print and digital publications. The Image Retoucher will ensure that all visual content is polished, consistent, and aligned with the publication's editorial and design standards.

Candidates must be available to work full time in our Dubai office.

The role involves:

Retouch, color-correct, and enhance product, fashion, lifestyle, landscape and portrait photography Remove imperfections (dust, blemishes, wrinkles, unwanted objects) while keeping images realistic Perform high-end skin retouching and background cleanup Edit and retouch illustrations and scanned artwork for print and digital publishing Prepare images for book covers, layouts, articles, and marketing materials Adjust colors, sharpness, resolution, and formatting to meet high-quality print standards Ensure images are copyright-cleared, properly credited, and aligned with publishing guidelines Collaborate with Photo Editor, Creative Director, designers, and editors to achieve the desired visual style Maintain well-organised image archives and follow proper file management processes Optimise images for multiple outputs (print, e-books, websites, and social media) Review proofs to ensure accuracy and consistency before final printing Keep up to date with industry trends, publishing software, and best practices in image editing

Position Requirements

Proven experience as an Image Editor, preferably in the publishing industry Proven experience as an Image Retoucher, preferably in the publishing industry Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Lightroom, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Bridge) Strong knowledge of color grading, masking, and advanced photo manipulation Strong understanding of image resolution, CMYK/RGB color profiles, image histogram, and print production requirements Keen eye for detail, composition, and visual storytelling Ability to manage multiple projects and meet publication deadlines Bachelor's degree or diploma in Visual Arts, Graphic Design, Photography, or Publishing Familiarity with editorial workflows, prepress, and printing processes Experience with InDesign or layout design is a plus
