We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Hydraulic Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, inspecting, and repairing hydraulic equipment and systems. You will ensure that all equipment performs to the highest standards and complies with industry regulations. Your expertise in both high- and low-pressure hydraulic systems, as well as your ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, will be critical to your success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot hydraulic equipment and systems.
Inspect and repair hoses and hydraulic lines.
Test equipment for proper performance and compliance with regulations.
Perform preventive maintenance on hydraulic systems and equipment.
Understand high- and low-pressure hydraulic systems and pneumatic systems.
Interpret and work with documents related to Hydraulic Schematic/P&ID Drawings, Pneumatic Schematic/P&ID Drawings, Panel General Arrangement and Layouts Drawings, Panel Fabrication Drawings, Instruments Installation Drawings, Instruments Supporting Drawings, Instruments Datasheets.
Install and work with electrical and hydraulic instruments, including hydraulic solenoid valves, pressure transmitters, level transmitters, pressure switches, pumps, and motors.
Understand and install metric and imperial fitting sizes (e.g., Swagelok Fittings Part Numbers, Hy-lok Fittings Part Numbers, Fitting Pressure Rating).
Work with metric and imperial tube sizes.
Install fittings with various thread sealants and Teflon tapes.
Perform tubing work related to instrument tubing routing as per P&ID and tubing sizes, tube punching, and cleaning.
Utilise hydraulic tools, including tubing benders, tube cutters, air compressors, and hydraulic chart recorders.
Work with nitrogen kits and pre-charging of piston-type and bladder-type accumulators.
Perform reservoir cleaning and filling.
Requirements:
2+ years of experience working with marine hydraulic systems and components.
High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or vocational training in hydraulics is desirable.
Proven experience as a Hydraulic Technician or in a related field.
Excellent knowledge of mechanical systems and components.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics.
Excellent attention to detail.
