HVAC Technician
Job Title: HVAC Technician
Department: Facilities Maintenance / Engineering
Reports To: FM Supervisor / Chief Engineer
Job Purpose:
The HVAC Technician specializes in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning systems, including refrigeration units, to ensure optimal indoor climate and air quality.
Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment (chillers, boilers, AHUs, FCUs, VAV boxes, rooftop units).
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults in HVAC systems and components using diagnostic tools and software.
• Repair or replace defective parts, calibrate thermostats, and check system pressures and temperatures.
• Handle refrigerants in accordance with EPA regulations (Section 608 Certification required).
• Respond to hot/cold calls and system emergencies promptly.
• Install new HVAC systems and ductwork, ensuring proper sizing and connection.
• Work with building automation systems (BAS) to monitor and adjust system performance.
• Keep detailed records of services performed, parts used, and time spent on each job.

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an HVAC certification program from a technical school.
• EPA Section 608 Certification (Universal level preferred) is mandatory.
• Several years of experience as a commercial HVAC technician.
• Strong understanding of HVAC principles, refrigeration cycles, and electrical systems.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Physical stamina and ability to work in extreme temperatures and heights.
