Key responsibilities

Programming and design:

Develop and program PLC and Human-Machine Interface (HMI) applications to control HVAC, boiler, and air handling unit systems. Collaborate with engineers to design control systems and write programs using languages like Ladder Logic or Function Block Diagram. Design and implement control logic for systems like chilled water plants.

Implementation and maintenance:

Install programs into control systems and perform system commissioning and diagnostics. Conduct regular maintenance and troubleshooting on existing control systems. Calibrate systems and provide technical support for operational staff. Evaluate and recommend improvements to enhance system efficiency and reliability.

Documentation and support:

Create and maintain detailed documentation, including functional specifications, system diagrams, and as-built documentation. Conduct thorough testing and validation of PLC programs before and after installation. Provide technical support and training to end-users and other technical staff.

Collaboration and administration:

Work with other engineering and cross-functional teams to integrate control systems. Communicate with clients, customers, and management to keep them informed of job progress. Complete administrative tasks like time sheets and expense reports.
Required skills and qualifications

Proven experience with PLC and HMI programming, with a preference for systems from vendors like Allen Bradley or Siemens. Strong background in HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, and thermal management solutions. Proficiency in reading schematics, control logic diagrams, and wiring schematics. Familiarity with various sensors, such as temperature, pressure, and flow sensors. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, depending on the seniority of the role.
