Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) Draftsman to join our team in Ras Al-Khaimah. The HVAC Draftsman will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans for HVAC systems based on the specifications and calculations provided by engineers. This role requires proficiency in CAD software and a strong understanding of HVAC principles, standards, and local regulations to produce accurate and high-quality drawings for installation and construction purposes.

Responsibilities:

Drawing Creation and Modification:

Develop detailed 2D and 3D HVAC drawings, including ductwork layouts, piping schematics, equipment locations, and control wiring diagrams, using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit MEP). Modify and revise drawings based on feedback from engineers, project managers, and site conditions. Prepare shop drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built drawings as required.

Technical Interpretation:

Interpret and understand engineering specifications, calculations, sketches, and verbal instructions to create accurate drawings. Ensure that drawings comply with project specifications, design standards, and relevant local (e.g., building codes in Ras Al-Khaimah) and international codes (e.g., ASHRAE, SMACNA).

Coordination and Collaboration:

Coordinate HVAC drawings with architectural, structural, electrical, and plumbing drawings to ensure proper integration and identify potential clashes. Collaborate with engineers, architects, contractors, and other team members to resolve design issues and ensure constructability. Attend project meetings to discuss drawing progress and address any technical queries.

Documentation and Standards:

Maintain accurate records of drawings, revisions, and related documentation. Adhere to company drafting standards and procedures. Ensure that all drawings are properly dimensioned, annotated, and labeled according to established guidelines. Create and manage drawing lists and transmittals.

Site Visits and Data Collection:

Conduct site visits to gather necessary information, take measurements, and assess existing HVAC systems for renovation or modification projects.

Quality Control:

Perform quality checks on own drawings and review drawings prepared by junior draftsmen to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Software Proficiency:

Maintain a high level of proficiency in relevant CAD software and stay updated with the latest software features and industry best practices.

Local Regulations Awareness:

Develop a working knowledge of local HVAC-related building codes and regulations in Ras Al-Khaimah and the UAE.

Qualifications:

Diploma or Certification in Mechanical Drafting, HVAC Technology, or a related field. A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline can be an advantage. Proven experience 03 years as an HVAC Draftsman in the construction or MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) industry. Strong proficiency in CAD software, particularly AutoCAD and Revit MEP. Knowledge of other BIM software is a plus. Solid understanding of HVAC systems, components, and design principles (e.g., ductwork, piping, airflow, equipment). Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and codes. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational and time management skills to meet project deadlines. Familiarity with local building codes and standards in Ras Al-Khaimah and the UAE is highly desirable.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with 3D modeling and visualization of HVAC systems. Knowledge of HVAC load calculation principles. Familiarity with industry standards such as ASHRAE and SMACNA. Experience working on a variety of project types (e.g., residential, commercial, industrial).
