Job Description
As an HVAC Design Engineer with 2 years of experience in the UAE, responsible for designing, planning, and developing HVAC systems in compliance with local regulations, international standards, and client requirements. Skilled in load calculations, equipment selection, duct and piping design, and preparation of detailed design drawings and BOQs for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform cooling and heating load calculations using software like HAP/TRACE. Design and layout HVAC systems including ductwork and chilled water piping as per ASHRAE, SMACNA, and UAE codes. Prepare detailed HVAC drawings using AutoCAD / Revit / BIM. Selection of HVAC equipment such as AHUs, FCUs, chillers, VRF/VRV systems, exhaust and fresh air fans based on project specifications. Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and MEP teams to ensure integrated system design. Prepare shop drawings, as-built drawings, and MEP coordination drawings. Conduct site visits for inspections, design validation, and support installation teams. Ensure compliance with UAE regulations (DEWA, DM, Estidama, Abu Dhabi UPC, etc.). Assist in HVAC tender documentation including BOQs, technical submittals, and material approvals. Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to gather technical data and pricing for HVAC components.
Key Skills:
HVAC Design & Drafting Heat Load Calculations (HAP, Carrier E20) AutoCAD, Revit MEP, BIM Duct & Pipe Sizing VRF/VRV System Design Equipment Selection & BOQ Preparation UAE Local Authority Approvals (Dubai Municipality, DEWA, etc.) Knowledge of ASHRAE, SMACNA, and other relevant standards
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.`
