About the Job:

This key role is open to talented and qualified UAE Nationals only with strong experience in Human Resources, leading a small team in an extremely busy operation. The position reports to the Director of Human Capital at Jumeirah Beach Hotel and is very hands-on in managing the daily delivery of Human Resources services to the operation. Overseeing the HR Business Partners, ensuring adherence to relevant policies and procedures, and implementing value-add, well thought out and business relevant HR support to HODs and colleagues, to enforce an engaged, motivated, and efficient service, fostering talent attraction, engagement, and retention.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to the development of an integrated actions to support the Hotel's HR strategy to ensure alignment with the corporate HR strategies whilst steering efforts towards key hotel priorities.
  • Support the ongoing monitoring of the hotel's HR activities in order to ensure that they accurately reflect the Group's employee value proposition and comply with the defined budgets.
  • Oversee the provision of HR administration to provide a high level of support to Colleagues.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Hotel's HR Department providing guidance, encouraging teamwork, and facilitating related professional work processes in order to achieve high performance standards and liaise with internal and external parties at the appropriate levels to ensure smooth flow of operations.
  • Collaborate closely with payroll, Colleague Services, and the visa team on, on matters related to visas, accommodation, medical, data management etc., in order to ensure alignment of efforts as well as to secure the optimal level of HR support required by the hotel.
  • Manage the Talent Management framework to build a highly competent workforce and a culture of achievement as well as to consistently recognize, reward, and retain top talent within the hotel. This includes involvement in the Talent Review, Annual Performance Review process, goal setting and development planning.
  • Support Talent Acquisition to attract both internal and external resources, by shortlisting candidates and reviewing transfer requests, to attract and retain competent colleagues.
  • Supporting the monthly workforce planning with ongoing consultation with HODs, organizational restructuring, recommending manpower levels and title/ grade changes, to maintain consistent staffing and structure models within the hotel.
  • Manage the delivery of employee relations services, including handling employee grievances and disciplinary action, investigating cases, and recommending conclusions, to ensure that all disputes are resolved in a fair and timely manner.
  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and standardization of HR systems, processes, and practices by researching and implementing best practice', improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
  • Recommend improvements to departmental policy, implement approved departmental policies, processes, and procedures, and provide instructions to subordinates and monitor their adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner while delivering a quality service to guests and maintaining standards of excellence.
  • Oversee the Hotel's Engagement Calendar and ensure that colleague events and initiatives are delivered to the highest standard, on time and on budget.
  • Assist with the Hotel's Emiratization strategy.
  • Monitor and manage the Time and Attendance system (Oracle) and ensure that departmental users are trained, and compliant with managing rosters and recording of working hours.
  • Assist in the annual budgeting process, review P&Ls monthly with the Head of HR and ensure accruals are recorded accurately.
  • Analyze available HR metrics to support business decisions.
  • Partner with HODs to develop robust action plans in response to Colleague Opinion Survey results to positively impact colleague engagement.
  • Collaborate with L&D to deliver required interventions and elevate service delivery to guests.
  • Other HR Projects and related duties as required or instructed by the Director of Human Capital.
About you:

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources Management or equivalent from an accredited and globally recognized University.
  • CIPD HR Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of human resources experience, preferably with an international hospitality company or a recognized blue-chip organization.
  • At least 2 years' experience at a HR Manager level, managing an HR team.
  • Solid experience with HRIS, Time & Attendance systems
  • Advance knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Good knowledge of key HR frameworks such as UAE employment law, compensation and total rewards, recruitment, organizational development, change management, engagement, and employee relations.
  • Good understanding of core hotel operations and of the luxury hospitality industry.
  • Good conflict management, facilitation, and resolution skills.
  • Outstanding inter-personal skills and empathy.
  • Good Planning and Organizational Skills to keep on top of pressing HR issues and scheduling orientations, interviews, and other events,
  • Ability to handle difficult situations with employees
  • Maturity when dealing with sensitive topics
  • Adaptability in situations where needs arise and change quickly,
  • Good writing and editing skills for all written correspondence
  • Excellent verbal communication skills,
  • Ability to solve problems effectively and fairly while considering and analyzing different viewpoints on a specific issue
  • High Emotional Intelligence, a kind nature and strong team spirit.
