Our client operates the leading hotel in this East African city and, due to the success of the property, it is currently expanding to meet new demand. Upon completion, the Hotel will offer 200 luxury rooms, banqueting for up to 500 guests, an Executive Lounge and multi food and beverage outlets. They are now looking for a young, energetic Human Resources Manager to join them and assist with the implementation and maintenance of all Human Resources policies and procedures across all departments in the property. This is a challenging role in a challenging environment, and the successful candidate will be a solid all round Human Resources professional who has preferably held a pre-opening role in a four or five star Hotel. The role requires a well balanced, calm individual who is used to operating under pressure and who is extremely hands on and highly knowledgeable in all facets of the Human Resources discipline. Key attributes / Skills Prior African experience is a pre-requisite for this role. Calm and collected in personality with excellent decision making skills Prior exposure in a remote location would be a big plus Must be holding a similar position in a reputable four of five star Hotel with at least three years of Human Resource management experience Willing to go the extra mile and work long hours if required Must be holding a similar position in a four or five star Hotel Sound knowledge of HR practices including industrial relations, recruitment, training and development, administration, succession planning, etc Strong business acumen Excellent written and verbal communication skills - must be fluent in English Strong interpersonal skills Must be a self starter who is confident, self motivated and have a 'Can Do' attitude Up to speed with the latest HR trends and practices Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail Ability to act with integrity, professionalism and confidentiality at all times Computer literate Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or related field.
