Reporting to the HBL Controller, PGTR, APMEA, you will be providing high-quality, accurate, and impactful research to aid in the growth and direction of the Hub Business Unit. Capability to produce concise, timely, and accurate research briefings. Should be able to demonstrate exceptional intellectual capability and discipline, as well as excellent communication skills. Also be professional, responsive, and service oriented. Your responsibilities
  • Operational finance: Supporting business decisions by developing effective profitability analysis across factories, service units, customer lines and product lines. Developing “on Demand” analytics for functional cost, material cost analysis and personnel expenses. Delivering month-end analytics on a timely basis for financial, operational, and other functional KPIs with variance analysis and commentaries. Following-up and variance analysis with factories across the Hub Business Unit. Generating ideas for continuous improvements to management analytics process.
  • Budgeting and forecasting: Rolling forecast process implementation with regular follow ups with factories, service, and sales units.
  • Net Working Capital and Capital efficiency: Providing and implementing recommendations on net working capital management based on analysis results. Reporting and dashboards using historical trend data and future commitments to monitor current and future NWC balances. Analyzing root causes of variances from budget or estimate, and support factories in the development and monitoring of actionable plans. Supporting Hub Business Unit Cash Call process through the monitoring of account receivable overdues and collections.
  • Productivity and Efficiency: Standardized definitions and reporting of productivity and efficiency, process improvement to gain operational efficiency and subsequent profitability improvements. Creating a month-end reporting cadence for the factories to review standard metrics and identify areas for potential improvement. Supporting the factories on the development of specific actions, timelines and owners to achieve results. Performing relevant analysis to identify utilization of current factory resources.
  • Strategy: Supporting and contributing to the definition of the strategy for the factories and service units. Research and investigating key industry trends and provide meaningful insights for the organization. Integrating information from multiple sources to develop actionable intelligence and recommendations to support the overall growth and targeted short to midterm strategies.
  • Internal controls and risk management: Evaluating and automating internal controls across the factories; support risk and contract manager in risk review processes and coordinate risk reviews across the Hub Business Units.
  • Ad Hoc Analysis & Project Support: Performing and executing short-term and long-term cross functional initiatives and projects for continuous improvements related to profitability, cashflow, finance processes, and/or productivity.
  • Special financial projects: Lean operational finance, monitoring centre of excellence and GBS performance, CELONIS data mining tool, SAP S4 HANA Deployment (REIWA), Integrated Business planning and Advanced data analytics through Power Pivot and Power BI (Business Intelligence). Managing the controlling COE team working for hub including performance evaluation, process improvements and coordinating with Controlling COE team leads.

Your background
  • A bachelor’s degree in finance or accounts or CA or CIMA or CFA.
  • 10 - 15 years of progressive experience.
  • Controlling or Operations experience preferred
  • Executive presence and exceptional organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in SAP ECC, BIW or another equivalent ERP tool.
  • Strong analytical skills and intellectual curiosity.
  • Proficiency in HITACHI Energy internal tools like ABACUS, ATLAS and Microsoft Office Suite (mainly Excel, PowerPoint, BI).
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English & Arabic language is required.
