HSE Inspector (Health, Safety & Environment)
Reports To: HSE Manager / Project Manager
Summary: The HSE Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all site activities comply with company safety policies, local regulations, and international standards (e.g., OHSAS 18001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001). They proactively identify hazards, enforce control measures, and foster a strong safety culture to achieve zero accidents.
Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct daily site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential physical, chemical, and biological hazards.
• Monitor compliance with Permit-to-Work systems (Hot Work, Confined Space, Excavation, etc.).
• Investigate all incidents, near-misses, and unsafe acts/conditions; prepare detailed reports with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Ensure all personnel have appropriate PPE and use it correctly.
• Lead and document safety inductions for new workers and toolbox talks for crews.
• Maintain and update HSE documentation, including registers for inspections, incidents, training, and equipment certifications.
• Inspect firefighting equipment, first aid supplies, and emergency systems for serviceability.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies during site visits and ensure all legal requirements are met.
• Promote environmental management by monitoring waste disposal, dust control, and spill prevention.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field.
• Certified NEBOSH IGC or equivalent is mandatory; IOSH Managing Safely is a plus.
• Minimum 3-5 years of HSE experience in construction.
• In-depth knowledge of HSE legislation and best practices.
• Strong observation, reporting, and communication skills.
• Ability to stop work deemed unsafe.
