Job Description

The role of the HSE Auditor is to carry out HSE Internal Audits as per the approved HSE audit plan for our network of schools. The HSE Auditor will also conduct special reviews and assignments as requested by the Head of HSE. Key Accountabilities are: Performance of Full Scope Audit, Special Review engagements & Independent Audits.
  • Carry out audits as per the Approved HSE audit Plan covering all areas related to the auditee and completion of the assignment within the stipulated time frame.
  • This includes Full scope Audits, School audits, Special Reviews & Investigations, Limited Scope Reviews, and Health & Safety Reviews.
  • Lead an Audit and conduct audits based on risk assessment within agreed timelines
Review of Internal Controls
  • Examine and report on existing controls, systems & procedures to ensure that the HSE of Staff, Students, Parents, Visitors, Contractors, and assets are protected and report on all inadequate or inefficient controls.
  • To verify and report ineffective internal controls, including policies & procedures, and suggest alternate procedures for better efficiency and control.
  • To review the existing systems to ascertain whether the desired results are obtained and whether they are consistent with established objectives and policies.
Identification of areas of hazard and risk through :
  • Variance compared to established HSE policies or prior period benchmarks.
  • Inadequate control measures, improper methods used and consequent loss.
Reporting and Communication
  • Summarize and discuss key observations and audit issues with the Head of HSE.
  • Complete audit working papers and prepare audit files which will be used to support audit reports findings.
  • To conduct the audit tests, validate the controls and perform all audit procedures.
  • Ensure that the Phoenix HSE is updated with all adequate evidence to facilitate review of the work and also address the review comments if any.
Audit Action Plan
  • To update Actions and monitor for their compliance from schools.
  • Prepare analysis and trends from audit reports for review and further action.
  • To prepare the pending Critical and Major risk action items as and when required by the Head of HSE.
Audit Committee Presentations
  • To assist in the preparation of audit committee presentations
  • To assist Head of HSE in adhoc works assigned.
Preparation and review of Audit Reports
  • Preparation of audit reports after completion of the Audits
  • Enter Audit report in Phoenix HSE with evidence of Non-compliance
Department Administration
  • Managing routine administrative matters within the department
  • Preparation of Purchase Orders, GRN’s, and other DAX-related matters.
Required qualifications, experience, and skills:
  • NEBOSH-IGC or Similar
  • Lead Auditor – ISO 45001/ISO 14001
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in HSE Audits
  • Strong communication in English, both verbal and written.
  • Persuasive skills in terms of being able to present and gain acceptance of value-added audit recommendations.

  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
