About The Role Artefact is looking for an accomplished and innovative HR Lead to join our dynamic team in Africa. The HR Lead will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of HR strategy in the African Offices to attract, retain, and develop top talent. The role will report to the Senior Management team and work closely with department heads to ensure strategic alignment between HR policies and objectives. Key Areas of Responsibility Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that promote fairness, diversity, and inclusivity. Lead the recruitment and selection process, attracting a diverse pool of high-quality candidates. Manage the onboarding process for new hires and ensure a positive employee experience. Develop and implement training and development strategies to support the growth and development of employees. Identify and address employee relations and engagement issues through the implementation of HR initiatives Ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulations. Manage the payroll function, including accurate data processing and tax regulations compliance. Manage employee benefits programs, including healthcare, retirement plans, worker's compensation and leaves of absence. Provide guidance and support on performance management and employee disciplinary processes. Drive employee relations initiatives to create a work atmosphere that fosters engagement, productivity, and growth. Serve as a coach and mentor to all employees and managers while modeling the Artefact values.

Competences & Skills Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Master's Degree preferred. 7+ years of HR experience, with demonstrated experience in leading an HR function/department in a corporate environment. Experience in a multinational company is required. Thorough understanding of local labor laws and regulatory requirements. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to build and foster relationships across a broad range of stakeholders. Demonstrated expertise with HR technologies including HRIS, Applicant Tracking Systems and Benefits programs. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Fluency in English is essential, fluency in other languages is a plus. Strong ethical standards and a track record of integrity.
