Description

Purpose of Role:

  • Take lead responsibility for the Recruitment of new and replacement roles for the Dubai campus in support of the University strategy
  • Work with key stakeholders both internal and external to enable the University to build, shape and sustain a high-performing and agile workforce
  • Ensure an excellent candidate experience from application through to onboarding and orientation.
  • As a member of the Global HR Directorate and team in Dubai, contribute to the further development of the HR Service in Dubai and support other activities including employment policy reviews, reward and wider staff development agenda.
  • Develop and implement in conjunction with the Global HR team and lead, OD and staff development initiatives for the Dubai Campus
  • Lead the articulation and deployment of EDI strategies and initiatives in the Dubai campus ensuring that Diversity and Inclusion is embedded within every aspect of our work.
Summary of Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead the delivery of the end-to-end employee Recruitment & Talent Acquisition service for the campus, ensuring consistent quality of service and implementing metrics to measure and improve the service
  • Maintain and develop local recruitment processes in partnership with the Head of HR in Dubai and the Head of Recruitment in the UK and build and manage recruitment capability in the HR team enabling them to provide a robust recruitment service to the University, partnering closely with Hiring Managers.
  • Maintain the local Recruitment Policy framework and develop a robust attraction strategy, working with HR Systems, Marketing and Communications teams to articulate the University's Employer Brand, develop and improve methods of promoting the University as an employer of choice and attract a pipeline of high-quality candidates to support the strategic goals of the Dubai campus.
  • Design and deliver consistent efficient recruitment and selection processes, agreeing standards and ensuring hiring managers are supported and guided through the process and the candidate experience is positive and engaging. Ensure the requirements relating to immigration/visa and right to work are fully documented and maintained effectively. Maximise the efficient use of Digital tools in support of both the process and the production of management information and performance measures.
  • Lead on strategies for the recruitment of all academic and professional services roles including senior leadership and specialist posts developing targeted campaigns as necessary to support key strategic hires. Develop recruitment and selection plans for all key posts, engaging Head-hunters and Agencies where appropriate and managing the business relationships accordingly.
  • Contribute to the review and revision of HR Policies and Reward strategies and supporting procedures for the Dubai Campus and provide coaching and guidance to managers and HR Colleagues to further enhance the HR Service for the Campus.
  • Work with the Head of HR in Dubai and the Global HR team to develop, adapt and implement OD strategies and initiatives. This will include producing an annual Learning and Development plan for the campus in conjunction with Dubai managers, drawing on global programmes wherever possible.
  • Lead the deployment of EDI initiatives in the Dubai campus
  • Provide HR generalist operational support as required and cover for the Head of HR in Dubai as necessary. Contribute to HR-related projects to support and influence the strategic direction of the Directorate and University such as onboarding and induction.
  • Provide standard reports for statutory, benchmark and internal reporting requirements.
  • As a member of the global HR Directorate, work collaboratively with HR colleagues across the wider HR Function to ensure that a 'one HR'/consistent service is provided to the organisation, working in partnership with managers and other professional services.
Education, Qualifications & Experience:
Essential
  • Educated to first degree level or equivalent (see link for details) or equivalent practical experience in the workplace
  • Competent in the use of relevant IT packages and ideally applicant tracking systems such as Oracle or Taleo
  • Proven relevant experience as a recruiter, either from a recruitment agency or from an in-house team, across the recruitment lifecycle from understanding job descriptions to writing compelling advertising and managing from planning to delivery of key talent, where you would have had success in targeting both passive and active candidates (experience in HE sector would be beneficial)
  • Good knowledge and understanding of relevant legal, statutory and governance frameworks and turning them into good practice
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing and presentation skills, able to understand and communicate complex issues effectively
  • Demonstrable ability to work quickly, flexibly and accurately in a dynamic, changing and pressured environment
  • Experience of working closely with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation, delivering excellent customer service.
  • Ability to research, analyse and present complex information effectively with good attention to detail
  • High-level organisational and project management skills with the ability to prioritise and juggle multiple recruitment projects at once
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Desirable * Professional Qualification or membership of Professional body (where applicable)
  • Experience of working in Higher Education or similar knowledge-based industry
  • Experience with Social Media tools in building recruitment campaigns
  • Experience of operating in a complex global environment
