What Does a Housekeeping Supervisor Do?
As a Housekeeping Supervisor, you will oversee all housekeeping operations within the hotel, ensuring that guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities are spotless, well-maintained, and meet our brand\'s five-star standards. Your leadership will directly impact the guest experience and the hotel\'s reputation for excellence.
What Are the Key Responsibilities?
Team Leadership & Management
- Supervise, train, and motivate housekeeping staff to maintain service quality and efficiency
- Assign daily cleaning tasks and schedules based on occupancy and priorities
- Conduct team performance reviews and implement ongoing training programs
Operational Management
- Oversee smooth daily operations, including laundry, room service, and cleanliness of public areas
- Manage housekeeping inventory and coordinate procurement for timely replenishment
- Enforce housekeeping standards and align procedures with five-star resort expectations
Guest Satisfaction & Quality Assurance
- Ensure the highest level of cleanliness and hygiene in all guest and staff areas
- Address guest feedback, requests, and complaints with professionalism and care
- Conduct regular inspections of rooms, suites, and shared spaces to maintain quality control
Budget & Cost Control
- Manage department budgets and reduce operational costs without compromising standards
- Optimize staffing levels and labor scheduling based on hotel occupancy
- Identify areas for cost savings while ensuring guest satisfaction
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure adherence to all safety, sanitation, and chemical handling protocols
- Promote sustainable and eco-friendly housekeeping practices
- Train staff on emergency procedures and health and safety regulations
What Skills Are Needed for a Housekeeping Supervisor in Abu Dhabi?
Education:
- Degree in Hospitality Management is preferred
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in housekeeping at a five-star or five-diamond luxury property
- Experience in a unionized environment is highly desirable
Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hotel PMS systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational abilities
- Outstanding guest service and interpersonal skills
- Composure under pressure and ability to lead by example
- Team-oriented, energetic, and solution-focused mindset
