Housekeeping & Laundry
Job Title: Room Attendant / Housekeeper & Laundry Attendant
Reports To: Executive Housekeeper / Housekeeping Supervisor
Job Overview:
The Room Attendant is responsible for cleaning and maintaining guest rooms and public areas to the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation. The Laundry Attendant is responsible for washing, drying, folding, and distributing all linens and terry for the property.
Key Responsibilities (Room Attendant):

• Room Cleaning: Thoroughly clean and sanitize guest rooms, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and cleaning bathrooms.
• Restocking: Replenish guest room supplies, such as towels, toiletries, and amenities.
• Inspection: Inspect rooms for any maintenance issues, damages, or lost and found items, and report them to the supervisor.
• Cart Management: Maintain a clean and well-stocked housekeeping cart.
• Public Areas: Assist in cleaning public areas as needed, such as hallways, lobbies, and elevators.

Key Responsibilities (Laundry Attendant):

• Linen Processing: Sort, wash, dry, and fold all hotel linens, towels, and staff uniforms according to established procedures.
• Stain Removal: Treat stains on linens and garments appropriately before washing.
• Machine Operation: Operate commercial washers, dryers, and ironers. Report any mechanical issues to a supervisor immediately.
• Inventory & Storage: Maintain an organized linen inventory and distribute clean linens to housekeeping carts and storage areas.
• Quality Control: Inspect linens for damage and remove them from circulation.

Qualifications & Skills (for both roles):

• No formal education required; previous experience in housekeeping or laundry is beneficial.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to high cleanliness standards.
• Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks, lift heavy linens, and stand for long periods.
• Time management skills to complete tasks within a set schedule.
• Integrity and honesty, as the role involves access to guest rooms and belongings.
• For Laundry: Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and fabrics is an advantage.
