PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: Coordinate all aspects of housekeeping office operations. TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Will open the department.
Reviews log book from previous shift for any special requests and special instructions.
Is responsible for key control, issues and receives.
Answers the telephone in an courteous and efficient manner as per the hotel standard phrases and records all messages and requests in the log book
Run reports on all Housekeeping status.
Dispatches information received to appropriate people.
Updates the system with current room status.
Feeds in relevant data into the computer.
Ensures that all guest complaints and requests are promptly and efficiently dealt with by way of communication and delegation
Maintains all attendance records
Maintains records for all special cleaning tasks
Maintains all housekeeping files
Maintains records of guest loan items
Reports all repair and maintenance deficiencies (engineering / maintenance system)
Inputs all inventories information and assets
Coordinates the movements of the contractors within the hotel
Assists in filing and updating all training records.
Adheres to hygiene standards.
Ensures that he/she is familiar with the policies and procedures relating to fire emergencies, evacuation, safety and first aid
Follows environmental issues
Follows any further instructions as directed by the Housekeeping Manager
GENERAL Regular attendance in conformity with the standards, which may be established by Mariott Hotels from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry and report deadlines, employees may be required to work varying schedules to meet the business needs of the hotel and report deadlines. This may include weekends and holidays. Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with hotel rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of hotel facilities. Employees who violate hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. HEALTH AND SAFETY
Follow working at height procedure where applicable.
Follow chemical safety while handling the chemical and other hazardous materials
Follow waste management procedures while disposing waste
Follow manual handling procedures while lifting/ carrying heavy items
Wear all applicable personal protective equipment in relates to the work.
Report any unsafe acts or unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
Aware of company incident reporting and emergency management procedure.
Adherence to hotel OSH Policy.
Attend all OSH related trainings when nominated.
