Hostess
Reports To: Junior Supervisor, Restaurant Manager
Job Overview:
The Hostess is the first and last point of contact for guests. They are responsible for greeting customers, managing the reservation system, seating guests, and maintaining the waitlist to ensure a smooth and welcoming entry to the restaurant.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Guest Reception:
  • Greet guests with a warm and friendly demeanor upon arrival.
  • Manage reservations via phone and online booking systems (e.g., OpenTable).
  • Escort guests to their tables and provide menus.
  • Seating Management:
  • Manage the seating chart and table turnover efficiently.
  • Maintain an accurate waitlist during busy periods and provide estimated wait times.
  • Communication:
  • Inform servers when their tables are seated.
  • Answer phone calls, provide information, and direct calls appropriately.
  • Bid guests farewell and thank them for their visit.
Qualifications:
  • Excellent verbal communication and a professional phone manner.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • A friendly and welcoming personality.
  • Ability to remain calm and polite under pressure.
