Reports to: Restaurant Manager / Maitre D'
Job Overview:
The Hostess is the first and last point of contact for guests, responsible for creating a warm, welcoming, and organized atmosphere. This role is crucial in managing the flow of the restaurant and setting the tone for the entire dining experience.
Key Responsibilities:

• Guest Reception: Greet all guests with a warm, friendly, and professional demeanor upon arrival and departure.
• Reservation Management: Manage the reservation book via phone and online systems (e.g., OpenTable). Accurately record bookings and special requests.
• Seating Management: Escort guests to their tables, present menus, and ensure a smooth seating process. Manage the waiting list during busy periods efficiently and fairly.
• Communication: Maintain clear and constant communication with the service team and managers regarding table status, guest needs, and reservations.
• Menu Knowledge: Have a basic understanding of the menu and beverage offerings to answer initial guest questions.
• Maintenance: Keep the hostess station, lobby, and entrance area clean, tidy, and presentable.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Previous experience as a hostess in a cafe or restaurant is preferred.
• Impeccable presentation and pleasant, friendly personality.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
• Basic computer skills.
