Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Horticulturist to take care of our plants' growth and maintenance on our farms and retail centres. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the health, quality, and productivity of our plants, as well as maintaining the overall appearance and organization of our farms and retail centre. Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the daily care and maintenance of plants on our farms, including watering, fertilizing, pruning, and pest management Monitor plant health and detect any signs of disease, pests, or nutrient deficiencies Develop and implement plant care schedules and protocols to ensure optimal growth and productivity Conduct regular inspections of plants and farms to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions Collaborate with our landscaping team to select and procure plants for projects and ensure that they are properly cared for and maintained Maintain accurate records of plant inventory, growth, and maintenance activities Stay up-to-date with the latest horticultural techniques and best practices and apply this knowledge to improve our plant care and maintenance operations Train and supervise farm staff on plant care and maintenance procedures Participate in the development of new plant varieties and propagation techniques Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Botany, or a related field 5+ years of experience in horticulture, preferably in a farm or nursery setting Strong knowledge of plant biology, soil science, and horticultural practices Experience with plant propagation, pruning, and training techniques Familiarity with integrated pest management (IPM) and fertilization practices Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Physical ability to lift, bend, and stand for long periods Valid driver's license and ability to travel to different farm locations

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in Horticulture or a related field 5+ years of experience in horticulture, preferably in a farm or nursery setting Certification in horticulture, such as the Certified Horticulturist (CH) or the Certified Nursery Professional (CNP) Experience with farm management software and technology Knowledge of sustainable and organic farming practices
