- A HIMS (Health Information Management Services) Release of Information (ROI) Clerk plays a crucial role in healthcare by managing the secure release of patients' medical records in compliance with laws, policies, and privacy.
- Process requests for medical records from patients, providers, legal representatives, insurance companies, and government agencies.
- Locate, retrieve, and prepare medical records for release (electronic and/or paper).
- Communicate with patients, attorneys, insurance reps, and internal staff about record request status or requirements.
- Prepare invoices for copies of records when applicable.
