The Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of heavy machinery used in construction, mining, agriculture, or industrial operations. This includes equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, loaders, cranes, graders, and other diesel-powered machines.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems on heavy equipment.
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, fluid checks, filter replacements, and lubrication.
Troubleshoot issues using diagnostic tools and manufacturer manuals.
Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems as needed.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed.
Ensure all equipment is safe, reliable, and compliant with safety regulations.
Operate equipment to verify repairs and ensure optimal performance.
Work independently or as part of a team in shop and field environments.
Keep tools, shop, and work areas clean and organized.
Follow company safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
