Job Purpose

To deliver, uplift product safely either in Cylinders or in Bulk to locations / customers and ensures proper handling, upkeep of the vehicle assigned.

Principal Accountabilities

Operations
Cylinder movements:
Ensures that correct sizes and quantities of empty/filled/new cylinders as per documents are properly loaded and stacked in the vehicle for receipt and delivery.
Ensures safe carriage of product and observes traffic rules while in transit
Checks cylinders for defects as per procedure while collecting new or reconditioned cylinders from suppliers.
Bulk Deliveries:
Familiarizes himself with various customer details like Customer name, location, facilities, product, minimum quantity etc.
Properly understands and carries out delivery instructions from Foreman for particular trip regarding delivery sequence, product, quantity, specific instructions.
Follows laid down procedures for routine/non routine bulk deliveries and reports abnormalities.
Ensures correct product/quantity whilst delivery/receipt at customer\'s place and obtains customer\'s acknowledgement.
Vehicle Usage & Maintenance:
Inspects condition of assigned vehicle and required accessories.
Maintains truck log according to the company\'s laid down procedures.
Ensures proper and efficient usage of vehicle and does basic cleaning of cabin and windshield before the trip commences
Reports any abnormalities / damages noticed and attends to minor breakdowns. Reports major breakdowns and requests for assistance ASAP
Performs basic vehicle maintenance tasks such as adding oil, fuel, and radiator fluid, or performing minor repairs.
Check vehicles before driving them to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
General
Familiarization with all UAE Emirates routes.
Awareness of the UAE driving laws and road restrictions.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Environment, Health Safety and Quality
Ensures that work place hazards are reported to the Shift Supervisor/Plant Manager.
Participates in fire drills and other emergency procedures.
Takes appropriate emergency measures when required.
Knows the Company\'s and Environment, Health & Safety Policy, Procedures, Regulations and Objectives as they relate to his area of responsibility and ensure that they are effectively implemented in his domain.
Ensures by appropriate monitoring and review, the work under his control is performed in a safe and environmentally sound manner.
Understands the importance of Defensive Driving and hazards of incidents.
Follow appropriate safety procedures when transporting dangerous goods.

Additional Principal Accountabilities

Experience

A high school graduate with 3-5 years work experience in driving semi-trailers preferably experience in handling Petroleum / Petrochemical products.
Possessing valid UAE driving licence for Heavy Vehicles with no major accident records.
Good interpersonal skills
Fair communication skills. Ability to read, write, follow instructions in English and update records as required. Age: 22 to 35 years, should be physically fit and healthy to do manual intensive field jobs, able to endure extreme heat and with no known medical conditions (Blood pressure, Diabetes, Backaches or Arthritis etc.)
