The HSE Officer will be responsible for implementing and enforcing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures at the construction site. The role ensures compliance with UAE local laws, international standards, and company HSE policies to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement and enforce site-specific HSE plans, policies, and procedures.
Conduct daily site inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Ensure compliance with UAE HSE regulations, OSHAD requirements, and international safety standards.
Conduct risk assessments and recommend appropriate control measures.
Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness training for workers.
Monitor the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents, and prepare detailed reports with corrective actions.
Ensure proper implementation of emergency response plans and conduct safety drills.
Maintain records of HSE inspections, incidents, and audits.
Coordinate with site management, contractors, and workers to promote a strong safety culture.
Liaise with regulatory authorities and external auditors when required.
Participate in HSE meetings and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in construction health and safety, preferably in Abu Dhabi.
Diploma in Health & Safety or Fire & Safety is mandatory.
Certifications required:
NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC)
IOSH Managing Safely
OSHA Certification
Strong knowledge of UAE HSE regulations, OSHAD guidelines, and international HSE standards.
Excellent communication and reporting skills.
Ability to work under pressure and proactively resolve safety issues.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in high-rise or large-scale construction projects.
Certification in First Aid, Fire Safety, or Confined Space Entry.
Familiarity with environmental management and sustainability practices.
