Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Officer

, As an HSE Officer, you will be responsible for enforcing HSE policies, identifying potential hazards, preventing incidents, and promoting a strong safety culture in line with UAE labour laws and international standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies and procedures in accordance with company standards and legal regulations. Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments in the production areas, warehouses, and chemical storage facilities. Ensure that personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided, available, and properly used by all staff. Monitor hygiene practices of employees, especially in sensitive production zones (e.g., gloves, masks, uniforms, hair nets). Investigate incidents, accidents, or near-misses, and prepare detailed reports with corrective and preventive actions. Deliver safety induction and ongoing HSE training to all staff, contractors, and visitors. Maintain updated records of safety audits, fire drills, safety signage, and first aid kits. Ensure the safe handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals and hazardous materials used in perfume manufacturing. Liaise with external authorities and ensure compliance with local HSE regulations (e.g., Civil Defense, Ministry of Labour, Municipality). Promote awareness campaigns and visual communication on health and safety practices. Monitor environmental performance and ensure compliance with waste management protocols. Support emergency preparedness planning and coordinate fire safety procedures. Support and coordinate HSE audits, inspections, and required documentation. Promote awareness on personal hygiene, PPE use, chemical safety, and emergency procedures. Develop and regularly test emergency response plans (fire, chemical spills, evacuations, medical emergencies). Conduct periodic drills and ensure emergency equipment is inspected and maintained.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Certified in NEBOSH / IOSH / OSHA or equivalent safety certifications. Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment; experience in cosmetics or perfume industry is a plus. Strong knowledge of UAE HSE laws and international safety standards. Excellent communication, observation, and reporting skills. Ability to work independently and enforce compliance professionally.
