Job Title:

Health and Safety Officer

Job Purpose:

To ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations across all fit-out and interior design projects. The role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring safety policies, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a safe workplace culture for employees, subcontractors, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and maintain the company's health and safety policies, procedures, and standards in line with UAE laws and regulations. Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits to identify hazards and ensure corrective measures are implemented. Ensure compliance with Dubai Municipality, Trakhees, DMCC, and other relevant authority safety requirements. Provide training, toolbox talks, and safety awareness sessions to employees and subcontractors. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; prepare detailed reports; and recommend preventive measures. Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and subcontractors to ensure adherence to safety standards throughout project execution. Maintain accurate records of safety-related activities including reports, training, permits, and compliance certificates. Issue and monitor work permits for high-risk activities such as working at height, confined spaces, electrical works, and heavy lifting. Promote a proactive safety culture by engaging with employees and encouraging safe working practices. Prepare and submit periodic health and safety performance reports to management.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's degree/diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field. NEBOSH/IOSH or equivalent HSE certification (mandatory). Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the fit-out, construction, or interior design industry. Strong knowledge of UAE safety regulations and authority approval processes. Excellent communication and training skills. Ability to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement effective control measures. Strong reporting and documentation abilities.
