Job Summary:

The Health and Safety Engineer will be responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment within the steel structure manufacturing facility. This role involves identifying risks, implementing control measures, ensuring compliance with relevant HSE regulations, and promoting a strong safety culture among all employees and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities:

Risk Assessment & Control:

Conduct regular risk assessments and hazard analyses in production areas (e.g., welding, cutting, lifting, assembly). Recommend appropriate risk control measures and ensure their implementation.

Compliance & Regulation:

Ensure compliance with local, national, and international occupational health and safety regulations. Prepare for and coordinate external audits and inspections.

Incident Investigation & Reporting:

Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses. Prepare reports with root cause analysis and propose corrective/preventive actions.

Safety Training & Awareness:

Develop and deliver HSE training programs (e.g., PPE use, fire safety, confined space entry). Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions for new employees, and refresher training.

Monitoring & Reporting:

Conduct regular safety inspections of tools, equipment, and facilities. Monitor noise, air quality, and other occupational health parameters.

Documentation & Systems:

Maintain up-to-date safety records, logs, permits, and MSDS. Manage safety data in accordance with ISO 45001 and other applicable standards.

Emergency Preparedness:

Develop and test emergency response and evacuation procedures. Coordinate first aid and fire safety drills.

Collaboration:

Work closely with production, maintenance, and QA/QC teams to integrate safety into operations. Liaise with external authorities, consultants, and clients on safety-related matters.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Health and Safety Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 3-5 years of HSE experience in a heavy manufacturing or steel fabrication environment. Certified in NEBOSH IGC, OSHA, or equivalent. Familiarity with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards. Knowledge of local HSE laws and labor codes. Proficient in MS Office and safety management systems.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong understanding of industrial safety practices (e.g., hot work, working at height, lifting operations). Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to conduct training and influence a safety-first culture. Attention to detail and ability to work independently and under pressure.

Working Conditions:

Work is primarily based in a factory and fabrication yard environment. Occasional travel to project or site locations may be required. PPE must be worn as per company policy and job requirements.

Pay: AED7,000.00 - AED12,000.00 per month
