Health and Safety Consultant (seconded onto client site) Job Summary - The Health and Safety Consultant role is to manage the on site daily HSE matters. - Working closely alongside the Corporate OHS part time HSE Lead Consultant. - Allocate duties to client HSE Officers and resources embedded on site to ensure the achievement of overall HSE aims. - The role is based in Abu Dhabi (KEZAD area) Required Qualifications ? Minimum 10 years of experience in an HSE role ? Significant amount of the experience must have been gained within the UAE ? Bachelors or Masters degree or diploma ? NEBOSH Diploma ? NEBOSH IGC ? Health and safety experience gained with a construction or events environment essential ? Past experience working as a Health and Safety Consultant prefferential Schedule ? 5 days per week from Monday to Friday on an 8-hours flexible shift to suit client operations ? The core hours will be 9am ? 5pm Monday to Friday with start to finish times flexible within these hours to suit the work conducted at client site ? Timings may vary, and the shifts may occasionally requirement weekend or night support Duties & Responsibilities ? Development, implementation of site specific HSE plan, policies, and procedures in line with ISO45001 and OSHAD-SF. This will include, but not limited to, site-specific Emergency Management Procedure (Emergency Response Plans, Fire Management Plan, Emergency Evacuation Plan), Risk assessments (detailed/task specific), Safe Work Procedures for all the tasks and associated documents and records related to OSHMS requirements, the needs of the site and updating as necessary ? Ensure that all risks have been identified, suitably controlled and the Detailed Risk Assessments, Task Specific Risk Assessments, Safe Work Procedures, Risk Registers and Risk Assessment Action Plan are developed, implemented, revised regularly ? Ensure that the agreed/developed safe working practices are communicated to all involved, training provided and implemented appropriately ? Ensure all the activities related to the site operations are closely monitored in terms of the health and safety implications and all the required controls are applied appropriately ? Prepare all documents for and chair the weekly HSE meetings and ensuring highlighted actions are allocated correctly and follow up actions are closed out within appropriate timelines ? Act as overall coordinator with the other HSE resources deployed on client site and ensure that they are provided with the adequate level of technical expertise to fulfil their job roles ? Act as escalation point of contact in the event of accidents and serious incidents ? Advise client and Lead Consultant as and when required to highlight the health and safety concerns and aspects that require immediate attention in the site ? Provide training to include leading any training given where appropriate provide ongoing support and learning to staff (security, contractors, subcontractors, cleaners, and Location managers and operations team) to ensure HSE protocols are understood and become ?normal routine? for staff working at site ? Ensure that any changes (which will naturally occur due to the nature of the work and requirements) are considered, following the OSHAD-SF Management of Change Procedure, and communicated and that a rigid structure is in place to control these changes ? Ensure a robust reporting system for all the incidents including near misses; carry out accident investigations, root cause analysis and trend analysis undertaken every month and the data communicated with client ? Ensure all records are properly maintained, managed, and shared with relevant stakeholders ? Ensure that all risks have been identified and suitably controlled and to notify client of any further precautions or controls required ? Provide briefings and toolbox talks to set workers and groups to ensure site rules and requirements are fully understood ? Ensure that the tracking/monitoring sheets for the incidents/inspections/ audits/corrective actions etc. are in place and made available to client ? Ensure competency assessments of all the activities/job positions are undertaken and recommendations provided as an Action Plan ? Ensure inspections, audits are undertaken as per agreed schedule, corrective/preventive actions are implemented and closed out with evidence as per the agreed timeline ? Ensure all the third-party operations (including but not limited to construction, production and set building) are risk assessed, inspected, and controlled Competencies ? Must be detail oriented and able to prepare and evaluate documents/reports to a very high standard ? Superlative interpersonal skills, ability to quickly establish and maintain effective working relationships with client and all other on site resources ? Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power point ? Possession of excellent English writing and verbal skills is essential ? Assertive personality able to work well with large volumes of people Required Documents ? Resume Salary ? 14,000 AED per month ? Preference given to candidates with residency already in place ?
