Job Description

As the Head Waiter at Rosa's Thai Restaurant, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests. Your leadership skills, extensive hospitality expertise, and passion for customer service will contribute to the smooth operation of the front-of-house and ensure that our guests have a memorable visit. You will lead the wait staff, coordinate service, and uphold the restaurant's high service standards.

Responsibilities:

Lead, train, and inspire the wait staff, setting a positive example for professionalism and service excellence. Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate expectations and objectives for the shift. Ensure that guests receive a warm welcome and attentive service, exceeding their expectations. Address guest feedback and concerns promptly and professionally. Monitor and ensure the accuracy of orders, verifying that all special requests and modifications are properly conveyed to the kitchen. Train and encourage the wait staff in effective upselling techniques to enhance the restaurant's average order value. Monitor sales data and strategize ways to increase guest spending. Manage guest reservations, optimize table assignments and accommodating special requests. Maintain an organized reservation system and communicate effectively with the hostess. Conduct training sessions for new hires, focusing on service standards, menu knowledge, and hospitality etiquette. Provide ongoing coaching to enhance the team's skills and knowledge. Ensure that tables are set and presented according to the restaurant's standards for cleanliness and aesthetics. Oversee table decorations and ambiance to create a welcoming atmosphere. Supervise cash handling procedures, ensuring accuracy and security during transactions. Assist in resolving billing discrepancies and handling guest payments as needed. Implement the restaurant's sequence of service to maintain a consistent and exceptional guest experience. Monitor service steps, timing, and overall guest satisfaction. Ensure that the restaurant adheres to health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe and sanitary environment for guests and staff. Generate and analyze daily sales reports, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement. Collaborate with management to develop strategies for enhancing revenue and service quality. Oversee the proper opening and closing procedures of the restaurant, ensuring compliance with operational protocols. Conduct end-of-shift checks and ensure that all tasks are completed before closing. Monitor online reviews and ratings on platforms such as review websites and social media. Respond to reviews professionally and positively, aiming to enhance the restaurant's online reputation.

Qualifications:

Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage a wait staff team to achieve excellence. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with staff and customers effectively. Customer-Centric Approach: Passion for providing outstanding customer service and ensuring guest satisfaction. Organizational Skills: Ability to manage reservations, coordinate service, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Problem-Solving: Quick thinking and ability to address operational challenges with creativity and efficiency. Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on restaurant needs. Previous Experience: Extensive experience as a waiter with demonstrated progression to a leadership role. Food Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with food safety regulations and sanitation practices. Knowledge of Thai Cuisine (preferred): Understanding of Thai culinary offerings is advantageous.
