Job Description

Job Summary:
The Head Waiter is responsible for overseeing the dining room operations, ensuring exceptional guest service, and leading the serving staff. This role requires strong leadership, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to manage a team efficiently while maintaining high standards of food and beverage service.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Train, supervise, and motivate waitstaff to ensure smooth service.
  • Assign workstations and manage staff rotations.
  • Conduct pre-shift briefings to communicate specials, reservations, and service expectations.
  • Resolve conflicts among staff and address performance issues.
2. Customer Service Excellence
  • Greet and seat guests, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Handle guest complaints professionally and promptly.
  • Monitor dining areas to ensure timely service and guest satisfaction.
  • Assist waitstaff with taking orders, serving food, and clearing tables during peak hours.
3. Operational Management
  • Ensure proper table setup, cleanliness, and adherence to restaurant standards.
  • Coordinate with the kitchen and bar to ensure timely food and drink delivery.
  • Manage reservations and optimize table turnover.
  • Oversee POS system operations, billing accuracy, and payment processing.
4. Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
  • Monitor alcohol service in accordance with legal requirements.
  • Report maintenance issues and equipment malfunctions.
