Head Nurse

who can elevate our clinical standards, lead a high-performing nursing team, and ensure every pet receives safe, skilled, and compassionate care.

Position Overview



The Head Nurse will oversee daily inpatient care, surgical support, and clinical workflow at our Doha-based veterinary clinic. This role requires advanced technical nursing skills, confident team leadership, and a deep commitment to veterinary best practices.

You will work closely with veterinarians, reception, and management to drive operational excellence, ensure patient safety, and support client communication on post-treatment care.

Key Responsibilities



1. Clinical Nursing Leadership

Supervise inpatient care, anesthesia monitoring, and surgical support. Lead advanced nursing procedures (e.g., catheterization, blood draws, dental prep). Oversee recovery protocols, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
2. Team Management & Staff Development

Mentor, coach, and schedule junior nurses, assistants, and interns. Conduct structured training on SOPs, sterilization, and patient handling. Monitor team KPIs (e.g., case volume, compliance, client feedback).
3. Client Education & Communication

Deliver clear post-op instructions and medication guidance to pet owners. Conduct client education sessions on chronic conditions, nutrition, and preventive care. Coordinate with the reception team to ensure smooth follow-ups and bookings.
4. Inventory & Equipment Management

Manage medical stock levels, supplier orders, and equipment maintenance. Prevent shortages or overstocking through structured inventory controls. Ensure readiness of clinical supplies for daily treatments and emergencies.
5. Process Optimization & Compliance

Implement and update nursing SOPs aligned with veterinary best practices. Ensure full compliance with internal protocols and Qatar veterinary health regulations. Support management in enforcing clinic policies and quality assurance procedures.

Qualifications & SkillsExperience:



5+ years in veterinary nursing, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role. Proven experience in anesthesia, surgery assistance, and post-op recovery. Experience in managing inventory and training clinical staff.

Technical Skills:



Proficient in clinical recordkeeping, patient monitoring systems, and inventory tools. Comfortable with basic Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Outlook) and patient databases.

Soft Skills:



Fluent in English; Arabic is an advantage. Confident leader with strong organizational, communication, and decision-making abilities. Calm under pressure and committed to patient safety and team performance.
