Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned

Head of Technical Design

with a strong background in

event and exhibition structures

, custom fabrication, and 3D design. This strategic leadership role is responsible for overseeing the entire technical design department, ensuring structural feasibility, design-to-fabrication accuracy, and innovation across all projects. The ideal candidate will combine creative vision with technical excellence and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Lead & Supervise:

Manage and mentor the technical design team including 3D designers, CAD operators, and draughtsmen.

Design Oversight:

Review and approve technical drawings and 3D models ensuring feasibility, accuracy, and compliance with project briefs.

Project Collaboration:

Work closely with the project management, production, and installation teams to translate creative concepts into buildable solutions.

Innovation & Efficiency:

Drive technical innovation and optimize design workflows to reduce lead time and material wastage.

Client Interaction:

Attend client meetings when required to understand scope, provide technical input, and propose cost-effective solutions.

Quality Control:

Ensure all outputs meet structural integrity, safety standards, and Unigraf's high-quality benchmarks.

Tool Mastery:

Oversee the use and implementation of design software including AutoCAD, Rhino, SketchUp, SolidWorks, and others.

Documentation:

Ensure proper documentation of drawings, BOQs, material specs, and installation guides.

Requirements

Experience:

Minimum 10 years in technical design, with at least 5 years in a senior or managerial role within the events or exhibitions industry.

Education:

Degree/Diploma in Architecture, Industrial Design, Interior Design, or related field.
