Job Purpose

The Head of Quality is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality across all of Alef Education's portfolio of products, according to recognized quality standards and strategies. In addition, this role will proactively improve capability and capacity of foundational business operations by developing, implementing, and championing new methods, tools and skills that lead to better quality.

Key Responsibilities

Process and Standardization

Recommends and implements organizational quality models and standards to establish a mature quality-driven, efficient and cost-effective organization

? Quality Review & Assurance with a key focus in Education and Content

? Establish the philosophy and strategy for quality and efficiency across all major operational, product and service functions

? Implement standards such as ISO, EFQM, Six Sigma and other models and strategies to establish consistent, efficient, quality-driven modes of operation

? Leads the formal accreditation process for targeted quality certificates and oversees ongoing adherence to accreditation standards

? Ensures quality management systems drive compliance to all applicable regulations in a manner that is scalable and appropriate for the organization and product portfolio

? Establishes and promotes quality standards through the review and establishment of related Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and policies in collaboration with program and division leaders

? Responsible for complete documentation of quality systems, collaborating with leadership to create and maintain manuals, policies, procedures and reference materials relating to quality improvement initiatives

? Lead training at various levels throughout the organization to further improve adherence to quality-related policies, procedures, and standards

? Maintain records of quality management projects, performance measures, statistical tools, audit reports, review methodologies, and action plans

? Work collaboratively with leadership to ensure adherence and alignment of work practices and policies

? Lead development of data collection methods, analysis, and effective reporting

? Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving utilizing strategic quality processes such as Six Sigma methodology and statistical analysis

? Maintain knowledge and keep senior leadership informed about regulations, quality trends and best practices within the company and throughout the education-technology industry

Quality Review

Assess current standards of operation and output, identify gaps and develop action plans improve quality and efficiency across all functions of the organization

? Conduct and manage audits and assessments of current processes and systems

? Identify and report on quality concerns and gaps in policy and process adherence

? Develop and implement action plans to close quality gaps and/or modify policies, procedures, systems, and tools to improve the quality standard of outcomes

? Collaborate with the internal auditor and other cross-functional teams to identify and manage compliance concerns

? Routinely audit divisions procedures, practices and documents to identify possible weaknesses or risk and develop proactive remediation plans

? Maintain thorough documentation regarding audit and review processes, samples, and reports

Business Improvement

Identify and target business improvement opportunities across target departments to enable greater efficiency, quality output, and effectiveness

? Monitor, analyze, report and effectively use data to steer operational efficiency, increase customer satisfaction and reduce risk

? Act as an independent review and evaluation leader to ensure that quality issues and concerns within the organization are appropriately evaluated, investigated and resolved

? Facilitate cross-functional analysis of key operational functions across all divisions to identify opportunities to better align the approach to quality and efficiency

? Review and analyze customer definitions and expectations of quality and transform this information into quality operational and program guidelines, systems and standards

? Facilitate satisfaction surveys of various stakeholders to inform on needed adjustments of systems, processes and overall satisfaction objectives for both internal teams and external customers

? Gather and analyze product/service data and use this to define and lead improvement initiatives that reduce the potential for quality errors and defects

? Facilitate the development of targeted business improvement plans

? Promote a continuous improvement culture by developing quality-focused cross-functional teams and change agents across the organization

Set Quality Benchmarks

Recommend quality standards to measure the success of the product

? Partner with legal, audit and security teams to streamline and continuously improve quality standards and systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements

? Responsible for rapid root-cause analysis, action planning and response to quality defects and deviations across the targeted divisions

? Prepare and present key root-cause findings and drive action plans to improve compliance and quality matters to senior leadership as requested

? Drive implementation and quality with company policies and procedures using an established tracking and review system

? Create and manage effective project plans to enable timely senior leadership response to audit discoveries and compliance findings

? Develop and implement compliance awareness programs in collaboration with Legal and Human Resources teams

Education, Experience and Required Skills

Educational Qualification

? PhD an advantage (areas relating to user experience, instructional design, etc)

? Master degree a strong advantage (quality, education)

? Bachelor degree in relevant field (quality, data, education) required

? Six Sigma Black Belt certification an advantage

? Lean Certification an advantage

? ISO Certification an advantage

Experience

? 10 years experience working in e-learning, digital publishing and/or education-technology industries

? 10 years relevant experience leading quality related operations including monitoring, measuring and setting product/content quality standards

? 5 years relevant experience building and leading quality strategy including implementation and management of quality models, tools, and systems

? 5 years' experience leading both formal and informal teams

Essential Skills

? Deep knowledge of quality management models and tools to enhance end-user product experiences

? Deep knowledge of statistical analysis software and tools to identify and solve quality problems

? Previous experience leading usability testing and defect tracking

? Working knowledge of technology quality control and testing systems

? Working knowledge of digital publishing methodologies an advantage

? Ability to comprehend technical information related to analytical methods, processes and regulatory requirements and policies

? Ability to translate technical information to all audiences

? Experience with data security and compliance regulations

? Ability to present data, defend approaches and enable effective decision making at the executive level
