Job Purpose

To support the University of Sharjah\'s campuses and its community with project management and planning services, by developing and directing the strategic planning of multiple projects that will further improve FMP related projects.\xe2\x80\x8b\xe2\x80\x8b
Main accountabilities & expectations

• Lead FMPD\'s related projects that help support and improve the University\'s buildings and facilities, and supervise the project team ensuring each members completes their work tasks accurately and on time.
• Manage all aspects of multiple related projects including identifying resources needed, assigning individual responsibilities and managing project budgets, to ensure the overall project is aligned to and directly supports the achievement of UoS\'s strategic objectives
• Lead regular progress meetings with the project team to follow up on project progress, and report all necessary updates to the line manager and stakeholders.
• Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques, and keep stakeholders informed regarding these changes.
• Monitor day-to-day Project Management and Planning activities and ensure that business processes and workflows are executed correctly and efficiently. As well as ensure that job tasks are distributed between team members fairly and professionally.
• Assess the available project resources on a regular basis and request additional support/expertise when necessary to avoid interruptions or delays to the project schedules.
• Perform regular on-site inspections during the project and after completion in order to ensure compliance to quality standards.
• Provide leadership to the section\'s team in order to build and develop their organizational capabilities, provide them with development opportunities, as well as report on their performance.
• Promote and facilitate positive interactions with key stakeholders and users, as well as recommend and/or implement changes in policies or procedures for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
• Participate in the preparation of the department\'s annual budget, in collaboration with the director and other heads, and track the section\'s expenditures and ensuring they are within the limits of the budget.
• Ensure the proper implementation of health and safety regulations as per industry best practices, and report any matters of concern to the line manager and/or related personnel in order to take action.
• Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues, and communicating them across to top management.\xe2\x80\x8b

• Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to prepare professional documents, in both Arabic and English.

Desirable Requirements

• Minimum of bachelor\'s degree in Electrical, Civil Engineering or a relevant discipline.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• 12-14 years of UAE experience in similar role preferably in higher education institutions.
• PRINCE II certification is a plus.
• Priority to UAE Nationals.\xe2\x80\x8b
