Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Business Development
Develop and execute a growth strategy for the Library Services division.
Identify new business opportunities and partnerships with educational institutions and libraries.
Stay updated on industry trends and innovations in library services and educational publishing.
Client & Stakeholder Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, libraries, and corporate clients.
Provide expert guidance on book selection, collection development, and curriculum support.
Conduct client meetings and presentations to promote services and secure contracts.
Library Services & Operations
Oversee the selection, procurement, and cataloguing of books
Ensure efficient fulfilment of library orders, including shelf-ready processing.
Work closely with suppliers and publishers to source high-quality materials at competitive prices.
Team Leadership & Training
Lead and mentor a team of library services professionals.
Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the department.
Financial & Performance Management
Set and achieve revenue and profitability targets for the division.
Manage budgets, pricing strategies, and cost control measures.
Analyse sales data and customer feedback to refine service offerings.
Qualifications and Experience
Educational background in Library and Information Science or related field.
At least 5 years of progressive experience in academic library leadership.
Proven experience managing library operations, staff and budgets.
Strong knowledge of current trends and technologies in library services.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in library services.
