Role Description:

• To oversee and manage all legal, risk management and compliance functions within the organization, and to ensure that the activities are conducted in accordance with UAE laws and regulations while effectively mitigating risks associated with the business operations.

Responsibilities:

Legal Compliance

• Ensure the company\'s activities comply with all relevant UAE laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Stay updated on changes in legislation and advise the organization on necessary measures.
• Provide legal counsel and guidance to the management, staff, and clients on various legal matters, including corporate law, contracts, and regulatory compliance.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
• Oversee any legal disputes or litigation involving the company or client entities.
• Act as a subject matter expert for the business and point of reference to address related queries.
• Review and approve all advertisements for publishing and broadcasting.

Risk Management

• Identify and analyze potential risks across various business functions.
• Evaluate the impact and likelihood of identified risks.
• Design and implement risk mitigation strategies and action plans and effective internal controls.
• Design and implement risk management policies and procedures.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with risk management policies and procedures.
• Provide regular updates on risk profiles and emerging risks.
• Prepare comprehensive risk reports for management and board review.
• Maintain accurate records of risk assessments, incidents, and controls.
• Develop and implement crisis management, incident response and business continuity plans.
• Coordinate response efforts during emergency situations.
• Promote a culture of risk awareness and accountability across the organization.
• Provide training and awareness programs to employees on risk management principles.
• Evaluate and monitor risks associated with external vendors and third-party relationships.
• Act as chairperson of the Risk Committee

Compliance

• Address issues relating to transaction monitoring, filtering, and sanctions
• Conduct risk assessments to identify and evaluate AML/CTF risks associated with clients, services, and geographical locations.
• Develop risk-based customer due diligence (CDD) and Enhanced CDD procedures.
• Implement and oversee transaction monitoring systems to detect suspicious transactions.
• Oversee Compliance Monitoring Program (CMP).
• Report regularly to senior management and compliance/risk committee on AML/CTF program effectiveness, any significant AML/CTF issues and CMP results.
• Maintain records and documentation related to AML/CTF activities, including CDD, SARs, and risk assessments.
• Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and regulatory changes.
• Provide AML/CTF training to employees and ensure their awareness of AML/CTF policies and procedures.
• Keep staff informed about changes in AML/CTF laws and regulations.
• Implement the annual AML plan and oversee the Compliance Monitoring Program to ensure adherence.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve all activities that are deemed noncompliant.

Requirements:

• Post-graduate in Business Management/ Professional Qualification
• Certified in AML & Risk Management
