About ekar ekar is the Middle East's first and largest self-drive mobility company, providing users on-demand access to a network of thousands of carshare and subscription leasing vehicles within its 'Self-Drive Super App'. ekar's vision is to improve the way people consume transportation and is achieving scale by SaaS-enabling car rental and leasing companies via ekar's Mobility OS. The role of Head of Legal - ekar Holding A Head of Legal will be accountable for the legal affairs of the entire organisation by providing guidance on corporate governance, negotiating and drafting contracts, risk management, law compliance and development of organisational plans and policies. This role includes providing legal counsel to the board of directors and other senior management. Key responsibilities and tasks
  • Ensure the reliable and timely execution of the company's day-to-day legal activities
  • Developing and leading corporate legal strategy to promote and protect the company's matters
  • Overseeing delivery of legal services and resources to accomplish corporate goals, strategies and priorities
  • Ability to analyse legal implications of various issues and advising various internal stakeholders and management on it
  • Provide accurate and timely advice to executives in a variety of legal topics (partnerships, international ventures, corporate finance, labour law etc.)
  • Anticipate and plan for all legal risks, and develop strategies to mitigate those risks
  • Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advise on possible legal issues; Advise the leadership team on legal matters critical to the growth of the business
  • Conduct diligent research into legal issues and recommend revisions as needed across a range of legal documents and agreements
  • Draft and solidify agreements, contracts and other legal documents to ensure the company's full legal rights
  • Deal with various complex matters with multiple stakeholders while keeping them informed
  • Maintain proper corporate interactions with the relevant local, state and federal governmental bodies, legislatures and the community at large
  • Participate in the formulation of general management policy as a member of the executive management team
  • Provide various legal advises / clarifications to different internal / external stakeholders

Requirements
  • Law degree
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in the core legal function with a proven experience working in a business environment
  • Experience supporting business objectives internationally across multiple countries
  • Experience in a senior management position
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to create legal defensive and proactive strategies
  • High degree of professional ethics and integrity
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, confidence and executive presence - ability to motivate staff
  • Strong planning, problem-solving and organisational skills and is able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Experience in the technology, mobility or automotive industry is an advantage
