Head of Legal, Financial Services
CLIENT: We are working with a UAE based financial services institution, who are seeking a new Head of Legal to support the advice sought by their C-suite, Department Heads, and stakeholders.
ROLE: As the Head of Legal, you\xe2\x80\x99ll be required to develop the long & short-term plans, policies, and procedures for the overall functioning of the Legal Department in line with the company\xe2\x80\x99s vision.

ROLE: As the Head of Legal, you\xe2\x80\x99ll be required to develop the long & short-term plans, policies, and procedures for the overall functioning of the Legal Department in line with the company\xe2\x80\x99s vision.
Some examples of the kind of work are outlined below:
- Handling general corporate and commercial matters as per day to day company operations.
- Relationship management with government entities, courts and the UAE Central Bank.
- Keeping on top of, and advising on regulatory best practice and compliance frameworks.
- Risk management, dispute avoidance, and outside counsel control.
- It\xe2\x80\x99s important that you can provide strong and accurate legal advice in English, additional Arabic is preferred but not essential.
- You\xe2\x80\x99ll need to be senior enough to handle a HoL / GC style role, and the guideline PQE for that is around 12+.
- Broad financial services experience is vital, especially if you have exposure to Islamic and Shariah compliance principles.
- Strong knowledge of UAE financial services laws, particularly UAE Central Bank policies.
