Working closely with the IT Leadership Team, you will be responsible for the Project Delivery function. Reporting to the Group Head of IT, the Head of IT Project Delivery is accountable for:
  • Prioritisation and management of the IT projects portfolio.
  • Successful delivery of all IT projects.
  • Setting portfolio, program, project, and quality targets.
  • Assessing the results and benefits realisation for all IT projects.
  • Continual improvement of the IT project delivery capability.


This role will be based in one of our Global IT Operations Centre based in Dubai. The Project Delivery Team play a pivotal role in ensuring that our Project are run to a high level while adhering to Mott MacDonald\'s policies and procedures. The role has these KPIs:
  • Business management systems compliance.
  • Projects delivered to time, budget, and quality.
  • Connected conversation completion rate
  • Employee satisfaction.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prioritisation and management of the IT projects portfolio ensuring alignment to business strategy.
  • Implementation of project management processes, methods, tools, guidelines, and standards in order to establish a stable framework that supports all project teams and stakeholders to improve project delivery.
  • Ensuring the successful delivery of all IT projects.
  • IT portfolio management and reporting on program and project status.
  • Establishing standards, processes, and tools used for effective agile project delivery.
  • Respond to escalated project issues that may impede project delivery and coordinate solutions.
  • Monitor and analyse project metrics to identify weaknesses or problems and to propose improvements and cost savings for future projects.
  • Act as the organizational change agent for improving Project Management maturity and practices.
  • IT portfolio, program, and project budget management.
  • Ensure career development, talent management, development plans, and succession planning is in place using Connected Conversations, the talent management process, and career development plans.
  • Ensure all Health, Safety, and Wellbeing practices are adhered to and reported on.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Plans, schedules, prioritises, allocates work effectively, and delivers to multiple competing deadlines.
  • Communicates confidently and assertively with a variety of audiences; negotiates effectively; and appropriately manages conflict.
  • Uses initiative to identify and solve problems proactively, uses good judgement to refer issues upwards as necessary, and identifies and manages risk effectively.
  • Is respectful and polite towards others, builds productive working relationships; works collaboratively across functional boundaries towards common goals.
  • Remains effective and positive even when under pressure.
  • Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement, shows commitment to own professional development, and demonstrates enthusiasm to learn new skills.

Desirable:

  • A recognised relevant professional qualification.
  • Experience of working in a complex matrix environment.
  • Experience of project portfolio management office.
  • Experience of the SAFe agile framework.

Candidate Specification:

We are looking for a team player and effective communicator, confident in their capability, whilst able to recognise areas for development. They must also be able to think creatively and should always be seeking new and more efficient ways to improve the function and associated processes.

They will have well-developed interpersonal and influencing skills and an ability to build collaborative relationships and manage a variety of stakeholders, each with differing requirements and challenges. It\xe2\x80\x99s important that they can inspire trust and confidence and establish credibility through effective partnership skills by consistently delivering against commitments.

They should have a natural ability in developing others, nurturing best practice, and be able to demonstrate that they can see the bigger strategic picture with resilience to navigate evolving requirements.
