Synopsis Organize, plan and execute all maintenance and repair services for the EASG Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Ensure workplace safety, efficiency and quality control of maintenance services as per industry best practice, UAE legislative requirements and according to GSE manufacturer's recommended maintenance procedures. Accountabilities
Continuously review fleet mix, book values, spare parts usage and other costs, and recommend strategy to optimize fleet demonstrating efficiency and adding financial value to the P&L
Maintain and update the library of technical manuals and drawings as per manufacturer's services bulletins and suggested modifications.
Ensure inspection and supervision of all completed repairs across sections and adhere to quality control standards.
Manage risks, approve changes to workshop practices to improve working conditions and ensure adherence to safety, security, and quality maintenance standards as per guidelines and company regulations.
Review technical reports and provide clarifications as required; this includes review of historical data, spare parts usage etc.
Prepare annual budget for the Department. Identify opportunities to improve profitability (increase sales or reduce costs) and implement these. Ensure adherence to budget with minimal variance.
Accountable for establishing SOP's for the maintenance of ground services equipment aligned with manufacturer's guidelines, whilst ensuring that all equipment is fit for use in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Overall supervision of ground equipment inspection, planning and technical analysis units. This includes accurate analysis of equipment defects and timely rectification.
Responsible for managing a team of mechanics and technicians, ensuring that the ground services equipment workshop is sufficiently resourced with a skill-mix appropriate for the equipment in use.
Implement a training program targeting the development of team members, maintaining standards that are current with technological standards.
Receive timely and accurate statistical data; review these, ensure warranty work is completed and informs concerned sections (Accounts etc) for processing of warranty claims.
Receive inputs on the daily activity schedule and execute work accordingly (view daily roster and divide tasks amongst team accordingly with individuals assigned to activities
Coordination with business units to ensure availability of appropriate equipment and numbers based on operation needs
Education & Experience
Degree level education is preferred or relevant industry experience, with a demonstrable sound knowledge of airport ground handling equipment maintenance operations preferably Completion of secondary (12 years) technical education followed by recognized technical course mandatory
7-10 years working experience with an airline or ground handling agency ideally with 5-7 years management leadership experience.
