Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Department for Emergency Medicine to lead a high-performing team within a Tier 1 healthcare facility in Qatar. The ideal candidate will be a fluent Arabic speaker with a proven track record in emergency medicine leadership, clinical excellence, and departmental development. This is a strategic and operational leadership role, responsible for ensuring the delivery of world-class emergency care aligned with international standards and local healthcare priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for the Emergency Medicine Department
Oversee clinical governance, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives
Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of consultants, specialists, and junior doctors
Ensure timely, efficient, and evidence-based emergency care delivery
Collaborate with hospital leadership on resource planning, budgeting, and service expansion
Drive education, training, and research activities within the department
Ensure compliance with national regulatory standards and international accreditation requirements
Act as a key liaison with internal departments, external partners, and regulatory bodies
Qualifications & Experience
Medical degree with specialization in Emergency Medicine
Tier 1 Board Certification (e.g., American Board, CCT, FRCP, FRCS, or equivalent)
Minimum 5+ years of clinical experience, with a senior leadership role
Fluency in Arabic and English is essential
Proven experience in managing large emergency departments in high-acuity settings
Strong background in clinical governance, quality improvement, and team development
Familiarity with GCC healthcare systems and cultural context is highly desirable
