Job Description

Job Purpose:
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Head of Data to lead enterprise data initiatives across the organization. This role will define and execute data strategy, ensure data governance and quality, and enable the business to leverage data as a strategic asset for decision-making, analytics, and AI initiatives. The ideal candidate will be techno-functional, with experience in large data organizations and implementation of modern data platforms.
Key Responsibilities: * Data Strategy & Governance

• Define and implement the enterprise data strategy aligned with business goals.
• Establish data governance frameworks, ensuring data quality, integrity, and compliance.
• Partner with business units to promote a data-driven culture.
• Data Architecture & Operations

• Oversee data architecture, lifecycle management, and storage solutions.
• Implement and manage data lakehouses using platforms like Snowflake, Delta Lake, or equivalent.
• Drive adoption of best practices in data engineering, analytics, and AI enablement.
• Leadership & Team Management

• Lead a team of 8-10 data professionals, including data engineers, analysts, and architects.
• Foster cross-functional collaboration in a lean, high-impact environment.
• Mentor and upskill team members, driving operational excellence.
• Techno-Functional Ownership

• Act as a bridge between technology and business, ensuring practical application of data solutions.
• Manage cloud-based data infrastructure, with relevant certifications considered a plus.
• Ensure scalable and efficient data operations to support enterprise-wide initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in enterprise data management, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
• Hands-on experience with modern data platforms, including Snowflake, Delta Lake, or other cloud-based data lakehouse solutions.
• Strong knowledge of data governance, architecture, and analytics frameworks.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Cloud and data engineering certifications are a plus.
