We are seeking a strategic and analytical Head of Corporate Pricing to lead our pricing strategy and execution.

Reporting to the Head of Corporate Life & Pensions (\xe2\x80\x9cCLP\xe2\x80\x9d) Business, the Head of Corporate Pricing will be responsible for the pricing and risk acceptance of corporate business, developing and implementing pricing strategies and policies to maximize profitability and support the company\'s revenue objectives. The ideal candidate has a strong background in pricing analysis, a deep understanding of market dynamics, and proven experience in driving pricing initiatives within a corporate setting. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Job Accountabilities

As Head of Corporate Pricing, your role will involve:
  • Holding binding corporate risk underwriting authority for the business unit. The authority is delegated from the Zurich Group following assessment of competency, knowledge and experience. Holding binding corporate savings authority as delegated by the business unit. Authority is subject to compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, in addition to Group policies, including Zurich Code of Conduct, Zurich Risk Policy (ZRP), Cross Border Business Policy (CBBP), and the respective Company\'s local governance guidelines and processes.
  • Development and execution of a comprehensive pricing strategy for corporate risk and savings that aligns with the company\'s overall business objectives and revenue targets. Communication of company strategies and philosophies to team members and ensure effective delivery of risk selection and financial control integrity.
  • Development and implementation of a life insurance underwriting philosophy, policies, structures, processes and practices in line with the strategy to achieve company goals and objectives. Ensures compliance with legislation and regulation regarding life insurance underwriting policies, practices and procedures and keeps abreast of improvements in underwriting technology. Stay up to date with industry pricing best practices, trends, and regulations. Assess the potential impact of regulatory changes on pricing strategies and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Development and implementation of pricing models, tools, and systems to support pricing analysis, decision-making, and optimization in line with the strategy. Provide input into revenue planning and budgeting processes. Collaborate with Finance and Revenue Management teams in the development of pricing models and forecasts.
  • Conduct regular price reviews and updates to ensure pricing accuracy, competitiveness, and profitability. Implement price adjustments as needed in order to meet the strategy.
  • Responsible for overseeing and personally underwriting highly complex cases, renewals, and policy endorsements. Onward delegation of underwriting authority to empower corporate risk underwriters following ongoing assessment of competency, knowledge and experience.
Job Accountabilities (cont\'d)
  • Effectively directs, leads and reports on team performance, including but not limited to, customer experience (KPIs), work product quality (Underwriting Quality Assurance), and efficiency to ensure compliance with established company and regulatory guidelines. Manage relationships with key internal stakeholders in order to identify opportunities for service improvement to ensure commercial viability and customer satisfaction. Determines and directs underwriting activities and systems to achieve stability, control, and improvement in risk acceptance and classification.
  • Work closely with Sales and Account Management teams to establish pricing guidelines, discount structures, and contract negotiation strategies. Provide guidance on pricing decisions for specific customer opportunities in line with the strategy.
  • Lead the implementation of complex projects and developments related to pricing. Provide technical pricing support where required to other projects, including new concept developments outside of the current range of products. Effectively collaborates to develop new products and strategies that require new risk selection classification criteria and/or pricing models.
  • Management of reinsurance, including external partners and internal Group reinsurance, including setting and negotiating reinsurance limits and terms and preparation of treaty wordings and amendments.
  • Management of the technical aspects of partnership arrangements, e.g., fronting partners including liaison with senior underwriting specialists in partner companies.
  • Effectively networks and collaborates with internal and external colleagues to build strong underwriting peer and reinsurance relationships. Participate in the community of global/regional pricing, underwriting and proposition development practitioners to share best practice.
  • Represents the function in internal and external audits and quality assurance processes and actively manages and resolves any resulting actions.
  • Model behaviors that demonstrate commitment to corporate values. Take action to manage own personal development and encourage others to do the same.
  • Direct line management of junior staff. Use of the performance management process in area of responsibility and complete performance management cycle for direct reports. Mentoring junior CLP Middle East underwriting staff to deliver quotations to CLP Middle East Sales Managers whilst developing their own skills and thereby increasing the capability of the pricing function.
