The Team The communications team at TikTok is a group of storytellers, reputation guards, credibility builders and image shapers. TikTok is looking for a Communications Lead for T\xc3\xbcrkiye, sitting in a broader Middle East, T\xc3\xbcrkiye, Africa, South Asia and Eastern Europe regional communications team, based in the regional HQ of Dubai, UAE.
In this role, we seek a Turkish-speaking individual with a demonstrated capacity to spearhead communications strategy in a fast-moving and critical market, within the framework of a larger regional and global organization. The successful candidate will possess an innate ability to distill and articulate intricate concepts swiftly and effectively under tight deadlines. Our ideal candidate boasts exceptional media acumen, adeptly discerning critical priorities and potential risks, and exercising sound judgment to orchestrate media strategies. You\'re good at connecting the dots and seeing the bigger picture in a growing global organisation. This role will be based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, with regular travel to T\xc3\xbcrkiye.
Responsibilities
As Head of Communications, drive market communications and PR strategy for TikTok in T\xc3\xbcrkiye, using METAP and Global Communications and business objectives to weave TikTok into the fabric of society and build trust.
Develop and execute compelling communications campaigns and narratives to support TikTok\'s strategic objectives in the market, linked to clear goals and metrics, and engage various stakeholders.
Build and maintain relationships with senior media organizations, editors, journalists and columnists, as well as key opinion leaders to serve our reputation management
Lead the organization of key media and networking events in T\xc3\xbcrkiye, showcasing TikTok as a trusted, useful and reputable brand in the market
Support, train and develop spokespeople in preparation for media interviews, presentations, and other speaking engagements
Manage issues and crises, provide strategic counsel to cross functional stakeholders, and serve as core member of the leadership and crisis management team for T\xc3\xbcrkiye
Develop strong working relationships with cross-functional partners across the company including operations, marketing, government relations, trust and safety to provide strategic guidance and local insights
Work closely with PR and other agency partners to ensure meticulous execution of tasks
As a key member of the broader regional communications team overseeing more than 70 markets, extend support and coverage to other markets as needed, particularly in crisis management scenarios.
Qualifications
Extensive leadership experience in communications and PR.
Experience working in cross-border, multi-cultural environments is preferred.
Fluent in English and Turkish
Strong written and oral communication skills and excellent interpersonal communication skills to successfully build relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally
Bachelor\'s Degree or higher in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or related field
Preferred Qualifications
Tech experience advantageous but not a requirement
Strong existing network of media relationships at various levels, with a focus on senior representatives
Ability to work independently in a fact-paced environment
Highly organised with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
