Head of Asset Availability - TSS Grade: GG13 Location: Dhahran, Saudi Arabia JOB PURPOSE BAE Systems is the UK Government's nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons. The Head of Asset Availability TSS is responsible to the Maintenance and Technical Operations Director - TSS for all aspects of the availability of assets to support the output delivery of the range of services within the scope for TSS; excluding Engines. JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES The Job Holder is responsible for coordinating and integrating the priorities for asset availability across the following areas: Management of the logistics service provided by SMSCMC Critical Spares availability for Tornado Sqns as measured by a KPI for Non-Mission Critical Supply (NMCS) Critical spares availability to enable TSS output delivery for IM shops including scheduled maintenance Critical AGE and Test equipment required to deliver the operation output of TSS and the RSAF AGFs Supplier Management Responsible for the daily performance of and interactions with SMSCMC as a key supplier into the TSS programme. This involves joint reporting and agreeing performance with the military customer on the logistics KPI of NMCS. Establishment and enduring review of supporting PIs or lead indicators that support logistics service Identification Develop a framework that bring together information from a variety of data sources and forums to produce a summary of the availability of assets to support the TSS output. The data sources include but are not restricted to: Critical spares (RSAF and TSS perspectives) Workability candidates Obsolescence candidates Non-recurring projects introducing new equipment. Prioritisation and Integration Establish and manage an integrated asset availability review focus within TSS matrix and process for TSS. Assets in this context are spares, AGE and test equipment This review structure should assess the current and predicted future availability of key assets, the potential impact to the service, mitigations and long-term resolution. Prepare and brief functional BAESSA stakeholders, external customers SBDCP and RSAF on asset availability issues including the formal customer LPR reviews. RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION Essential: Awareness or operational experience of aviation maintenance. Experience of managing and delivery of operational support projects, with an understanding of the business lifecycle: from business winning and bid work through to in-service support and disposal. Experience of managing supplier programmes. Proven ability to apply thinking to Asset availability. Strong leadership qualities with ability to communicate at all organisational levels (Internally and externally), in an appropriate and clear manner. Ability to establish dependable relationships with the Customer and key partners and suppliers. Degree qualified (or equivalent) in an appropriate discipline. Experience in the delivery of integrated solutions including maintenance, training, logistics and operational business support. Desirable: Extensive experience in a position of senior responsibility and management. Experience of the development and application of project management processes including, organizational design, information management, Risk and Opportunity management and functional governance. Qualified knowledge of resource management. Risk aware and qualified in undertaking and supporting risk assessment. Experience across the project lifecycle including, where possible, familiarity with Life Cycle Management.
