Purpose:

We are looking for a highly motivated and self-driven individual to lead GMG Sports Retail & Ecommerce Data Science & Analytics department

The opportunity revolves around 3 main pillars, Data Engineering, BI and Analytics and will require to build the solid foundation required for a reliable, sustainable and scalable Data science & Analytics department.

From Supply chain, to customer data (single view of customer) to actionable brick & mortar and ecommerce insights, you will be given the tools and resources to make a difference in a multi-billion sports retail & ecommerce organization

The role requires a deep understanding of Customer Data, Ecommerce lever of growth, brick & mortar ins and outs.

\xe2\x97\x8f Create a robust data architecture incorporating cutting-edge concepts and technologies

\xe2\x97\x8f Bring the organizational vision to life through the formulation and execution of both short-term and long-term data strategies

\xe2\x97\x8f Collaborate with IT teams to develop a comprehensive data roadmap, focusing on platform selection and utilization

\xe2\x97\x8f Guide the team by establishing a clear plan for implementing data engineering best practices, fostering data engineering expertise, and supporting professional growth within the organization

\xe2\x97\x8f Take charge as a leader, mentor, and collaborator for a dynamic team of Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Data Analysts, providing guidance and coaching to facilitate their development and success

\xe2\x97\x8f Generate regular automated reports and dashboards to provide visibility into Brick & Mortar and Ecommerce performance, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations for improvement

\xe2\x97\x8f Preparation of data requests

\xe2\x97\x8f Preparation and enrichment of data from a variety of sources

\xe2\x97\x8f Data quality assessment

\xe2\x97\x8f Development of rules-based or statistical and impact analyses

\xe2\x97\x8f Development of executive-level reports and dashboards

Personal Specific Criteria:

Base Requirement:
  • Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of relevant experience with Digital analytics. Related experience in eCommerce is a must.
  • 4+ years of experience managing and building a team
Job-Specific Skills:
  • Advanced knowledge with GA4 data and custom event tracking abilities. You know when to pull in a tag implementation expert to improve the data captured in analytics tools
  • Prior experience with Customer Journey Analysis or Conversion Rate Optimization could be a plus
  • Solid project management skills to get the job done. You could set project plans, oversee project resources, meet deadlines and delegate tasks
  • Proactive by nature and energized by new challenges that come your way; you are used to rolling up your sleeves with a cross-functional team to brainstorm and execute on new ideas
  • Strong data manipulation and analysis skills (e.g. SQL, R, Python, Hive, SAS, Big Query)
  • Experience with industry standard RDMS (eg. Oracle, MSSQL, PostgreSQL)
  • Database design and development (ie. Microsoft SQL Server or IBM DB2)
  • Data loading and ETL solutions (ie. Microsoft SSIS or Informatica )
  • Reporting and data visualization tools (eg. Microsoft SSRS, Tableau, Power BI, Qlikview, D3)
  • Scripting or programming experience (eg. C#, Scala, Java, Python).
